Settings Common to All Modes (System Function)Scale TuneScale Tune SwitchTurn this on when you wish to use a tuning scale other than equaltemperament.Value: OFF, ONOne set of Scale Tune settings can be created in Patch mode. InPerformance mode, this can be set for each part of the performance(p. 111).In Patch mode, this is valid only for the keyboard part.The Fantom-X allows you to play the keyboard using temperamentsother than equal temperament. The Fantom-X employs equal temperament when theScale Tune Switch is set to “OFF.”Just Temperament (Tonic of C)Compared with equal temperament, the principle triads soundpure in this tuning. However, this effect is achieved only in onekey, and the triads will become ambiguous if you transpose.If “PHRASE” is selected for the Preview Mode parameter, thesesettings will have no effect.Preview 1–4 VelocitySpecify the velocity of the four notes that will sound when thePreview Mode parameter is set to “SINGLE” or “CHORD.”Value: 0–127If “PHRASE” is selected for the Preview Mode parameter, thesesettings will have no effect.Arabian ScaleIn this scale, E and B are a quarter note lower and C#, F# and G#are a quarter-note higher compared to equal temperament.
