Settings Common to All Modes (System Function)Output GainThis adjusts the output gain from the Fantom-X’s Analog Out andDigital Out. When, for example, there are relatively few voices beingsounded, boosting the output gain can let you attain the mostsuitable output level for recording and other purposes.Value: -12–+12Mix/ParallelSpecifies how the sound of the entire Fantom-X will be output.ValueMIX: Set this to have the collective output of all sounds output fromthe OUTPUT A (MIX) jacks. When you want to check the finaloverall sound being output, set to MIX.Sounds which are set in the respective Output Assign to beoutput from the INDIVIDUAL 3 jack are output from the leftOUTPUT A (MIX) jack; sounds which are set to be output fromthe INDIVIDUAL 4 jack are output from the right OUTPUT A(MIX) jack.Sounds output from the PHONES jack are the same as thoseoutput from the OUTPUT A (MIX) jacks. Therefore, any soundsset with Output Assign to be output from the OUTPUT B jacksis not output from the PHONES jack. Be sure to have any soundyou want to hear through the headphones set to “MIX.”PARALLEL: Output according to each Output Assign settings.Master Key ShiftShifts the overall pitch of the Fantom-X in semitone steps.Value: -24– +24Patch Remain (Patch Remain Switch)Specifies whether currently sounding notes will continue soundingwhen another patch or rhythm set is selected (ON), or not (OFF).Also, when this is “ON,” changes produced by incoming MIDImessages such as Volume or Pan (CC 5, 7, 10, 65, 68, 71–74, RPN 0, 1,2, MONO ON, POLY ON), as well as tonal quality and volumechanges produced by the various controllers will be inherited.Value: OFF, ONEffects settings change as soon as you switch to a new patch orrhythm set, without being influenced by the Patch Remainsetting. Because of this, certain effects settings can cause notesthat were until then sounding to no longer be heard, eventhough Patch Remain has been set to on.MIDIDevice ID (Device ID Number)When you want to transmit or receive System Exclusive messages,set this parameter to match the Device ID number of the other MIDIdevice.Value: 17–32Performance Control ChannelPerformance Ctrl Ch selects the MIDI receive channel used duringswitching of performances when MIDI messages (Program Change/Bank Select) are sent from an external MIDI device.
