File-Related Functions (File Utility)Here you can perform a variety of operations related to the filesstored in the Fantom-X’s user memory, and on memory cards. Youcan copy, delete, or move files, as well as format memory cards.The folder structure of the user area and memory card is as follows.fig.24-000(User, Card)ROLANDTMPPNLSEQSMPLSNDSNGAUDIO_IMPORTBMPTEXTBasic Procedure1. Press [MENU].2. Press or to select “File Utility,” and then press[ENTER].fig.24-001_50The File Utility screen will appear.You must observe the following points when managing fileswith the Fantom-X connected to your computer via USB.• Don’t use your computer to move or delete folders withinthe Fantom-X.• Don’t use your computer to format or optimize the Fantom-X’s user memory or memory card, or execute operationssuch as Scan Disk.• The Fantom-X can only handle filenames consisting ofsingle-byte alphanumeric characters.• Don’t use your computer to delete or overwrite the fileslocated in the ROLAND/SND folder.When copying files from your computer into the Fantom-X’s userarea or memory card, place them in the following folders.ComputerSONG file (.SVQ)(MRC PRO song)Standard MIDI file(SMF format 0, 1)Audio file (WAV/AIFF)Bitmap file(320 x 240 pixels)Text file (.TXT)Fantom-XROLAND/SEQ/SNGROLAND/SEQ/SNGTMP/AUDIO_IMPORT folderTMP/BMPTMP/TEXTDon’t place files of any other format in the user memory or memorycard.3. Press the function buttons to select the operation you wantto carry out.[F1 (User)]: Select a file in user memory.[F2 (Card)]: Select a file on the memory card.[F3 (Card Format)]:Format (initialize) a memory card.[F4 (Mark Clear)]: Remove check marks from the files. If youhold down [SHIFT] and press [F4 (Mark ClrAll)], check marks will be removed from allfiles.[F5 (Mark Set)]: If you want to select two or more files, add acheck mark (✔) to the files. If you hold down[SHIFT] and press [F5 (Mark Set All)], checkmarks will be added to all files.[F6 (Delete)]: Delete a selected file or files with checkmarks.[F7 (Move)]: Move a file or files with check marks to adifferent folder.[F8 (Copy)]: Copy a file or files with check marks to adifferent folder., : Select the folder., : Move between folder levels.223
