Adding EffectsMastering EffectThis is a stereo compressor (limiter) that is applied to the finaloutput of the Fantom-X. It has independent high, mid, and lowranges. Independently for the high-frequency, mid-frequency, andlow-frequency regions, this compresses any sounds that exceed thespecified level, making the volume more consistent. When mixingdown to MD, or DAT, or when you procedure your own originalaudio CD, this lets you master at an optimized level.* Mastering effect settings apply to the entire Fantom-X. These settingsare not for individual patches or performances.* The mastering effect is applied to the sound that is output from theOUTPUT A (MIX) jacks. It will not be applied to the sound that isoutput from the OUTPUT B jacks.fig.22-013_50ATTACKTime from when the volume goes up the threshold level until thecompressor effect appliesValue: 0-100 msRELEASETime from when the volume falls below the threshold level until thecompressor effect no longer appliesValue: 50-5000 msTHRESHOLDVolume level at which compression beginsValue: -36-0 dBRATIOCompression ratioValue: 1.00:1-INF:1 (INF: infinity)LEVELOutput volumeValue: 0-24 dBSplit Frequency HighFrequency at which the high-frequency (HI) and mid-frequency(MID) bands are splitValue: 2000-8000 HzFor details on these settings, refer to “Making Effect Settings”(p. 206)Function Buttons Explanation[F1]–[F5]Recall preset settings for each type.[F6 (User)] Recall saved user settings.[F7 (System Write)] Save the current settings as user settings.Only one set of user settingscan be saved.[F8 (Effect Sw] You can press this to open the EffectSw window and turn each effecton/off.
