The knobs shown in the screencorrespond to the Realtime Control knobs. When you enter theMFX 1–3 screen, the indicator at the right of the RealtimeControl knobs will go out, and the Realtime Control knobs canbe used to edit the MFX parameters. If you once again press thebutton located at the right of the Realtime Control knobs so theindicator is lit, the knobs will control their original functions.When you exit the MFX 1–3 screen, the indicator willautomatically return to its previous lit state.Parameters marked by can be selected as a multi-effectcontrol destination parameter (p. 214).In Patch mode, the Keyboard part can use MFX1 and the Padpart can use MFX2.If you want to use common controllers for the entire Fantom-X,select “SYS CTRL 1”–”SYS CTRL 4.” MIDI messages used asSystem Control 1–4 are set with the Sys Ctrl 1–4 Sourceparameters (p. 233).In patch/rhythm set mode, there are parameters that determine,for each tone/rhythm tone, whether or not Pitch Bend,Controller Number 11 (Expression) and Controller Number 64(Hold 1) are received (p. 79). When these settings are “ON,” andthe MIDI messages are received, then when any change is madein the settings of the desired parameter, the Pitch Bend,Expression, and Hold1 settings also change simultaneously. Ifyou want to change the targeted parameters only, then set theseto “OFF.”• There are parameters that determine whether or not specificMIDI messages are received for each MIDI channel (p. 79).When using the multi-effects control, confirm that any MIDImessages used for the multi-effects control will be received. Ifthe Fantom-X is set up such that reception of MIDI messages isdisabled, then the multi-effects control will not function.213
