Saving/Loading a song (Save/Load)Saving a Song with Samples(Save Song+Samples)Here’s how to save the Temporary Song along with all samples insample memory and the current sound generator settings.1. From the Save/Load Menu screen, press [F1 (Save S+S)].fig.20-002_50The Song File Name screen will appear.File Name and Song NameMRC Pro songs and Standard MIDI Files have a song name inaddition to a file name. The file name is used to distinguishbetween files, and must be assigned when you save a file. It willhelp you manage songs if you use the file name to distinguishbetween types of song, and use the song name to assign a title.Use the Song Name screen to assign a song name (p. 197).2. Assign a file name to the song (up to 8 characters). A filename extension of “.SVQ” will automatically be added tothe song.If you assign a file name that is identical to a file name alreadyexisting in the user area or memory card, and attempt to save, amessage of “File “****” Already Exists! Over Write Sure?” willappear, asking you for confirmation. If it is OK to overwrite theexisting file, press [F8 (OK)]. If you decide to cancel the Saveoperation, press [F7 (Cancel)].If you attempt to save data on a memory that was not formattedby the Fantom-X, a message of “Unformatted!” (memory cardhas not been formatted) will appear. Please format the memorycard on the Fantom-X (p. 224).For details on assigning names, refer to “Assigning a Name”(p. 36)Song file names may not contain lowercase characters or certainsymbols (“ * + , . / : ; < = > ? Press [F8 (Exec)] to execute.* When samples are saved, they will automatically be overwritten ontothe same numbers of the same bank in the sample list. The samples willbe saved with a file name of “SMPL****.WAV (AIF)” in the“ROLAND/SMPL folder” of user memory or memory card. Thenumber of the file name will correspond to the number in the samplelist.199
