Editing SongsData Handled by the Beat TrackThe Beat track records time signature data.Beat ChangeThis specifies the time signature (Beat).Viewing Sequencer Data (View)Since a phrase track or pattern contains a large amount of sequencerdata, the display may be cluttered and difficult to read. For thisreason, the Fantom-X lets you specify the type(s) of sequencer datathat will be displayed in the screen. This is convenient when youwant to check or edit only a specific type of sequencer data.1. Access the Microscope screen.2. Press [F8 (View)].The View Select window appears.fig.19-028_504. Press [INC] or [DEC] to switch.The message will be displayed if the check mark (✔) isassigned, and will not be displayed if the check mark isremoved.If you press [F6 (ALL OFF)], none of the sequencer data will bedisplayed.If you press [F7 (ALL ON)], all of the sequencer data will bedisplayed.5. Press [F8 (Close)] to close the View Select window.Inserting Sequencer Data (Create)You can insert new sequencer data into a desired location of a phrasetrack or pattern.For details on the sequencer data that can be inserted, refer to“Sequencer Data Handled by a Phrase Track/Pattern” (p.193).1. Access the Microscope screen for the track or pattern intowhich you want to insert sequencer data (p. 192).2. Press [F1 (CREATE)].fig.19-029_50The Create Event window appears.3. Use or to select the sequencer data that will bedisplayed.Note:Note messages. These MIDI messagesrepresent notes.Poly Aftertouch:Control Change:Program Change:Polyphonic aftertouch. These MIDImessages apply aftertouch to individualkeys.Control change messages. These MIDImessages apply various effects such asmodulation or expression.Program change messages. These MIDImessages select sounds.Channel Aftertouch: Channel aftertouch messages. TheseMIDI messages apply aftertouch to anentire MIDI channel.Pitch Bend:System Exclusive:Pattern Call:Tune Request:Pitch bend messages. These MIDImessages change the pitch.System exclusive messages. These MIDImessages are used to make settingsunique to the Fantom-X, such as thosefor the sound parameters.Pattern Call messages. This data causesa pattern to play back.This MIDI Message cause an analogsynthesizer to tune it self.3. Press or to select the sequencer data that will beinserted.4. Press [F8 (Exec)] to insert the performance data.5. The sequencer data that was inserted will have the defaultparameter values, so edit them as necessary.If you are not satisfied with the results of executing thisoperation, from the Song Edit screen, press [MENU], and fromthe Menu window that appears, select “Undo/Redo” to returnto the state prior to execution (Undo/Redo).After executingUndo, you can use Redo to revert to the previous state. Afterexecuting Undo, you can execute Redo by performing the aboveprocedure the above procedure once again.194
