Getting ReadyConnecting an Amp and Speaker SystemSince the Fantom-X contains no amplifier or speakers, you’ll need to connect it to audioequipment such as a keyboard amplifier, monitor speaker system or home stereo, or useheadphones to hear its sound.1. Before hooking anything up, make sure that the power on all of your gear is turnedOFF.2. Connect one end of the supplied power cable to the Fantom-X, and the other end to apower outlet.3. Connect the Fantom-X to your amp/speaker system as shown in the diagram.921To prevent malfunction and/or damage to speakers or otherdevices, always turn down thevolume, and turn off thepower on all devices beforemaking any connections.fig.02-002.eto Power outletStereo headphonesIn order to fully experience theFantom-X’s sound, werecommend using a stereoamp/speaker system. If you’reusing a mono system,however, make yourconnections to the Fantom-X’sOUTPUT A (MIX) jack L(MONO).Audio cables are not includedwith the Fantom-X. You’llneed to provide them.Mixer etc.Power ampMonitor speakers(powered)For details on how to install aWave Expansion Board (soldseparately), refer to “Installingthe Wave Expansion Board”(p. 240).The OUTPUT A [MIX] jackssupport balanced output. Usea correctly wired cable so thatthe HOT, COLD, and GND asprinted on the rear panel of theFantom-X are correct for themixer or other input deviceyou’re using.19
