Sampling• Re-Sampling: [F2 (Re-Sampl)]Resample the sound of the internal sound generator. The soundof the external input will not be heard.* The volume of a phrase that you resample may be less than the volumeof the original phrase. If necessary, execute the Normalize command(p. 156) to raise the volume.• Mix Sampling: [F3 (Mix)]Sample the combined sounds of the internal sound generatorand an external input source.• Auto divide sampling: [F4 (Auto Divide)]Sample an extended source, and automatically divide it intoseveral samples at silent regions. If the sample contains silence,it will be divided at that point, and the subsequent portion willbe assigned to the next sample number.* Operating the keyboards, pads or D Beam controllers will not play theinternal sound generator.• Solo sampling: [F5 (Solo)]While playing the internal sound generator as usual, sampleonly the sound from the external input.* Effects cannot be applied to the external input sound.fig.14-006_503. Make the settings for things such as the input source of thesound to be sampled, and triggering.• Input SelectSpecifies the input source of the sound that is to be sampled.ValueDIGITAL IN:LINE IN L/R:LINE IN L:MICROPHONE:DIGITAL IN connectorINPUT jacks L/R (stereo)INPUT jack L (mono)INPUT jack L (mic level)* This cannot be set when resampling.• Stereo SwitchSpecifies whether the sound will be sampled in stereo or inmonaural. Mono sampling uses half as much memory space.ValueMONO:STEREO:The sound will be sampled as one wave. Ifthe sound is stereo, the left and right signalswill be mixed. The sound will be sampled as two waves, Land R.• Pre Sample TimeThe length of sound preceding the moment at which samplingwas manually or automatically initiated that will be captured inthe sample. This lets you prevent the attack portion of thesound from being omitted from the sample.Value: 0–1000 ms• Stop TriggerSpecifies how sampling will end.ValueMANUAL: Continue sampling until you press [STOP].BEAT:Stop sampling after the specified number ofbeats at the current tempo (BPM).TIME:Sample the specified length of time.• Sampling LengthYou can specify this if Stop Trigger is “BEAT” or “TIME.”ValueSampling Length When Stop Trigger is “BEAT”:1–20000:Number of beats to continue samplingWhen Stop Trigger is “TIME”:00’00”010–50’00”000:length oftime to continue sampling.• Auto Trigger LevelSpecifies the volume at which sampling will begin if you havepressed [F2 (Auto Trig)] to turn Auto Trig ON.Value: 0–7 (A setting of 0 is the minimum.)• Gap TimeSpecifies the length of the silences at which the sample will bedivided if the Sampling Mode is set to Auto Divide. Wheneverthere is a silent region longer than the specified time, the samplewill be divided at that point, and the next sample number willbe assigned to the sound that follows.Value: 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 ms* This parameter is valid only when you are using Auto DivideSampling.• Input Setting: [F1 (INPUT SETTING)]Makes settings for the external input (p. 141).• Auto Trigger: [F2 (AUTO TRIG)]If this is on, sampling will begin automatically when the inputsound is detected. Before you turn Auto Trig on, perform steps 4 and 5 to set theinput level.• Trim Sw: [F3 (TRIM SW)]If this is turned on, the Start point and End point settings (p.149) will be automatically adjusted after sampling is performed,so any silent portions at the beginning or end of the sampledsound are excluded.4. Play the external input source.143
