Playing RhythmsSaving the Patterns YouHave Created (Write)The rhythm patterns you create are temporary; they are deleted assoon as you turn off the power or select some other rhythm patterns.You can store 256 rhythm patterns in the User memory.1. Hold down [SHIFT] and press [RHYTHM].2. Press [F1 (Rhythm Group)].Turn the VALUE dial, or press [INC][DEC] to select a rhythmgroup you want to edit.3. Press [F7 (Edit)].The Rhythm Group edit screen will appear.fig.13-007_50Rhythm pattern settings are saved as independent data,not as part of the data for each patch. The settings in Patchmode, it is not possible to save rhythm pattern parameters (e.g.,pattern, grid type).It can be saved to individual in Performance mode. If youwant to save your settings, press [WRITE] and save theperformance.1. Confirm that the current Pattern is the one you want tosave.2. In the Rhythm Pattern screen, press [F2 (Rhythm)].3. Press [F8 (Write)].The name entry screen will appear (p. 36).4. When you have finished entering the name, press [F8(Write)].A screen in which you can select the destination for the writewill appear.fig.13-006_505. Use [CURSOR] to select a parameter, and turn the VALUEdial or use [INC][DEC] to set the value.• PADSelect the pad for which you want to make settings.* You can also choose the pad that you want to set by pressing that pad.• Recommended Rhy (Recommended Rhythm Set)Specifies which rhythm set will be used.• Pad ModeSpecifies whether a rhythm tone or a rhythm pattern numberwill be assigned to the pad.Range: Pattern, Note, Off• Rhythm Pattern (Rhythm Pattern Number)If Pad Mode is set to Pattern, specifies the pattern number thatwill sound when you press the pad.Range: U001–256, P001–256• Rhythm Pattern VelocitySpecifies the velocity of the rhythm pattern when the pad modeis set to “Pattern.”Range: REAL, 1–127• Pad NoteIf Pad Mode is set to Note, specifies the note number that willsound when you press the pad.Range:C-1 –G9• Pad VelocitySpecifies the strength of the sound heard when you strike thepad. If this is set to REAL, you can add dynamics by varying thestrength of your strike.Range: REAL, 1–1275. If you want to save the rhythm group you created, proceedto step 4 of “Saving the Rhythm Group You Have Created(Write)” (p. 140). If you don’t want to save it, press [F7(Exit)].Not only can you use the prepared internal Rhythm Groups thatdetermine how rhythm are played, but you can also create them aswell. This way, you can enjoy performing your own original rhythmgroup.139
