It’s generally agreed that how you saysomething is just as important as whatyou say.The same applies to the way an organisationpresents itself visually.Bord Scannán na hÉireann / the <strong>Irish</strong> <strong>Film</strong><strong>Board</strong> (IFB) is committed to communicatingits messages with confidence, clarity andconsistency. We’ve invested in the creation<strong>of</strong> a new brand, which will go a long way toachieving this.These brand guidelines are designedto avoid any miscommunication on howthe IFB logo should be used, and to ensurethat the IFB brand grows in recognition,togetherr with the <strong>Irish</strong> film industry.They are intended <strong>for</strong> both print andon-screen usage,


THE LOGO / FOR PRINT /The IFB logo is composed <strong>of</strong> two colours -Green PMS 5773 and Process Magenta.The logo may also be printed in CMYKprocess colours. See the CMYK colourequivalents below. POSITIVE LOGO / FOR PRINT /This is the original version <strong>of</strong> the logo andshould be used on all promotional materialswhere it is to be printed on a white (notcoloured) background.When printing on a coloured backgroundsplease use the reverse version <strong>of</strong> the logo.The logo must never be reproduced below itsminimum size. Minimum size: 20mm wide.20mm03


REVERSE LOGO / FOR PRINT /For production <strong>of</strong> promotional materialswhere the use is the positive logo is deemedunsuitable. Minimum size: 20mm wide20mm04


WHITE LOGO / FOR PRINT /This logo can only be reversed out <strong>of</strong> black,green or magenta. This version <strong>of</strong> thelogo should only be used when absolutlelynecessary.The logo must never be reproduced below itsminimum size. Minimum size: 20mm wide20mm05


BLACK LOGO / FOR PRINT /For production <strong>of</strong> promotional materialswhere the printing <strong>of</strong> tones is notappropriate. This is to be used onlywhen absolutlely necessary:e.g. fax or newspaper.Minimum size: 20mm wide20mm06


THE LOGO / FOR SCREEN /This logo can only be reversed out <strong>of</strong> black,green or magenta. The logo must never bereproduced below its minimum size.A logo with an integrated credit line maybe used when necessary.Minimum size: 200 pixels wide200 pxWITH THE PARTICIPATION OF200 px07

CLEAR SPACE /To ensure its integrity and visibility, the IFBlogo should be kept clear <strong>of</strong> competing text,images and graphics. It must be surroundedon all sides by adequate clear space.The minimum areas <strong>of</strong> clear space shownare based on a measurement equivalent tothe total height <strong>of</strong> IFB title and strapline.It is permissible to leave more space thanthat shown around the logo, but never less.09


UNACCEPTABLE USE /Only logo <strong>for</strong>mats shown in this guidelinesdocument can be used. Do not alter anyaspects <strong>of</strong> a <strong>Logo</strong> <strong>for</strong>mat.10
