Wembley Area Action Plan - Proposed Submission Version7ForewordBrent Council has started is in the process ofpreparing a new development <strong>plan</strong> for Wembley,called the Wembley Area Action Plan. It will beimportant in determining how Wembley developsover thenext 15 years or so. Building on thecouncil’s vision to develop Wembley as adestination which will drive the economicregeneration of Brent, the <strong>plan</strong> includes key<strong>plan</strong>ning objectives and policies and providesguidance for the development of over 30 sites inthe Wembley area. Our aim, reflected in the Plan,is to provide new homes, jobs and shopping andleisure facilities, whilst ensuring that importantinfrastructure and services, such as transportimprovements and new schools, are delivered tomeet the needs of local people.At Brent we are committed to full communityinvolvement in the important decisions that aremade and particularly in bringing forward <strong>plan</strong>s thatare likely to affect the local community.(Cllr) George CraneLead Member for Regeneration and Major ProjectsTwo stages of consultation have been undertakenon the Area Action Plan to date.
