Thismonitored throughregular clinical audit,annual service userconsultation (feedingintoneedsassessment), regularrisk assessment andplanning of care (threemonthly), discussion inmultidisciplinarymeetings andsupervision (group andindividual).Child Safeguarding isperformance managedvia the quarterlyChildren’sSafeguarding Boardchaired by the Directorof Nursing andattended by all the keysafeguardingprofessionals. Thehospital Trust Boardalso has regular inputfrom the Chief Nursewho is the executivelead for SafeguardingChildrenandvulnerable adults inthis regard. MonthlyHospital safeguardingmeetings occur wherethrough assessmentprocessors, Serviceuser committee,monitoring andresponding to serviceuser’s suggestions,comments andcomplaints, annualauditsandconsultation. Individualand Group supervisionhas enhancedawareness andpractices in relation tosafeguarding childrenThe hospital has usedPICKER and PETsurveys to obtainviews of children andparents. These arebeing used in servicedesignanddevelopment – e.g. therecent NethertonGrove Extension.Patient user groupsand stakeholderevents have also beenheld to include theviews of service users.been carried out toidentify all thoseaccessing the servicewho have childrenunder the age of 18living with them or withwhom they haveregular contact.Separate carepathways exit foryoung people withinthe borough.Zero Demographic profileinformation isavailable from ourelectronic patientrecords system and isused in generalcapacity planning andservice developmentacross the Trust inorder to meet localneeds. This isreflected in theaccess policy andis reinforced inchild safeguardingtraining.36
