Since September2011 a total of 51 sessions have beendelivered to 1324 education staff byCREW. Participants have included headteachers, teachers, support staff andschool governors. Additionally, therehave been 2 Designated Teachersseminars, run in conjunction withKensington and Chelsea attended byrepresentatives from 34 LBHF schools.Issues raised in relation to schoolparticipation in case conferences was akey topic at the designated teachersseminars. All training has beenevaluated as either good or excellentand all LBHF schools have chosen tocontinue to purchase this training2012/13.Children in entertainment andChildren Missing EducationChildren who are without aschool place not only miss outon an education but also donot have regular contact withany professionals. CREW areresponsible for working withadmissions and colleagues inother services (such ashousing) to track all childrennotified as CME. A total of 252such children have beenreferred to CREW betweenSeptember 2011 and April2012 with all but 15 nowhaving been placed.Statutory register inspectionshave been carried out byCREW in all LBHF schools toensure no child has beeninappropriately removed froma school roll and gone missing.Children Electively HomeEducated (EHE)Parents and carers areallowed in law to elect to homeeducated their children and thevast majority who do this do asatisfactory job. But as withchildren missing education,such children miss out onregular contact withprofessionals, any issues andvulnerabilities may not beidentified and appropriatesupport cannot be offered. InLBHF all home educatedchildren are visited at leastannually. There are currently64 such children known toCREW, an increase of 36%compared to the same periodin the previous year.18
