This ensures <strong>that</strong> all children will play at least half of <strong>the</strong>game. Sh<strong>in</strong> Guards are to be under socks. Tennis Shoes must be worn. NO JEWELRYALLOWED.Start of Game: Kick off from <strong>the</strong> center with opponents at least 2 yards away.Ball <strong>in</strong>/out of play: The whole ball must be over <strong>the</strong> l<strong>in</strong>e.Drop Ball: No drop ball. Team with possession at <strong>the</strong> time of stoppage of play will ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> possessionand have a Free Kick to start play.Off-Sides: There are no off-sides.Fouls: All Fouls will result <strong>in</strong> a Free Kick. A goal may not be scored until <strong>the</strong> ball is touched and/or playedby ano<strong>the</strong>r player from ei<strong>the</strong>r team. No Free Kicks may be taken by <strong>the</strong> attack<strong>in</strong>g team with<strong>in</strong> 10 yards of<strong>the</strong> goal. All opponents must be 5 yards away from <strong>the</strong> ball.Penalty Kicks: No penalty kicks. (ONLY IN OVERTIME IN PLAYOFFS)Throw Ins: There are NO THROW INS. Teams will use Kick Ins at <strong>the</strong> appropriate spot. THE BALL WILL BE LIVE OFF THE BACK WALLS AND CAN BE PLAYEDNUMBER OF PLAYERSEach team will have a target roster size of between 8-12 players.Games will be 5 on 5 for ages 5-8 and 4 on 4 for 9 and up.Teams may substitute players on any stoppage of play with <strong>the</strong> referee’s approval.Each player shall play a m<strong>in</strong>imum of 50% of <strong>the</strong> total play<strong>in</strong>gtime.Only children registered <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> league and to your team are allowed to participate. If you allow achild to play who is not registered <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> league and with your team, <strong>the</strong> game will be forfeited and

BALL MAY BE PLAYED OFF THE BACK WALLo The basketball pa<strong>in</strong>t will be <strong>the</strong> designated goal crease. NO SHOTS MAY BE TAKEN FROMTHE CREASE. If <strong>the</strong> ball enters <strong>the</strong> crease, it must be moved out before a shot can be taken.o The goalie can only handle <strong>the</strong> ball with his hands if he and <strong>the</strong> ball are <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> crease. He <strong>the</strong>nhas five seconds to put <strong>the</strong> ball back <strong>in</strong>to play.Referees There will be 1 referee for 5-7, 8-10, and 11-12 year old age brackets. Referees should avoid <strong>in</strong>terfer<strong>in</strong>g with <strong>the</strong> course of play but are considered part of <strong>the</strong> field. Referees should briefly expla<strong>in</strong> all rule <strong>in</strong>fractions to <strong>the</strong> offend<strong>in</strong>g player. More coach<strong>in</strong>g of rules should be provided at <strong>the</strong> younger ages. After a goal is scored, <strong>the</strong> team <strong>that</strong> scored must go back to <strong>the</strong> mid-field l<strong>in</strong>e so <strong>the</strong> ball can bekicked <strong>in</strong> by <strong>the</strong> oppos<strong>in</strong>g team and advanced. Once <strong>the</strong> ball has been played <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> field ofplay, <strong>the</strong> oppos<strong>in</strong>g team can cross <strong>the</strong> mid-field l<strong>in</strong>e and play defense.FOULS – All fouls result <strong>in</strong> a Free KickSlide tackl<strong>in</strong>g is a major foul. Us<strong>in</strong>g offensive, <strong>in</strong>sult<strong>in</strong>g, or abusive language and/or gestures7. Receiv<strong>in</strong>g a second yellow card caution <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> same matchoooIf any player is less than cordial to our referees, <strong>the</strong>y may be suspended for one gamedur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> season. If this occurs more than once <strong>the</strong> player is subject to ejection from <strong>the</strong>league.<strong>i9</strong> <strong>Sports</strong> does not recognize non-play<strong>in</strong>g coaches as part of <strong>the</strong> team. These coachesmay be asked to leave <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> event if <strong>the</strong>y act rude, unruly, or act <strong>in</strong> a manner <strong>that</strong> is not<strong>the</strong> best <strong>in</strong>terest of <strong>the</strong> league.In any game <strong>the</strong> <strong>i9</strong> <strong>Sports</strong> will provide an official.


oThe team capta<strong>in</strong> is <strong>the</strong> sole representative for his/her team. The capta<strong>in</strong> has <strong>the</strong> right toask <strong>the</strong> referee for <strong>the</strong> rules before <strong>the</strong> game starts. If <strong>the</strong>re is a dispute all calls are f<strong>in</strong>alfor <strong>that</strong> game, and will be discussed over <strong>the</strong> phone with a director. The decision is f<strong>in</strong>alfor <strong>the</strong> purpose of <strong>that</strong> game. Dur<strong>in</strong>g any protest, time on <strong>the</strong> game clock cont<strong>in</strong>uesto run, except for <strong>the</strong> last two m<strong>in</strong>utes of each half.Method of Scor<strong>in</strong>gA goal is scored when <strong>the</strong> whole ball has passed over <strong>the</strong> goal l<strong>in</strong>e, between <strong>the</strong> goal posts and under <strong>the</strong>crossbar, provided <strong>that</strong> no <strong>in</strong>fr<strong>in</strong>gement of <strong>the</strong> rules has been committed previously by <strong>the</strong> team scor<strong>in</strong>g<strong>the</strong> goal. If <strong>the</strong> <strong>Official</strong>'s whistle sounds before <strong>the</strong> ball passes fully <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> goal, <strong>the</strong> goal shall not beallowed. A goal may be scored directly from a goal kick, but only aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> oppos<strong>in</strong>g team A goal may be scored directly from a corner kick, but only aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> oppos<strong>in</strong>g team A goal may be scored if a goalkeeper throws, punts, or dropkicks a ball <strong>in</strong>to ei<strong>the</strong>r goalooA goal CANNOT be scored directly from a kick-<strong>in</strong>. It must touch a member of ei<strong>the</strong>r teamA goal CANNOT be scored from <strong>in</strong>side <strong>the</strong> basketball pa<strong>in</strong>t. No shots may be taken fromthis areaFree KickA Free Kick is a method of restart<strong>in</strong>g play. The ball must be stationary before tak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> kick. Opponentsmust be 5 yards from <strong>the</strong> ball. A goal cannot be scored directly from a Free Kick. The ball must be touched by a teammate oroppos<strong>in</strong>g player first. No Free Kicks may be taken with<strong>in</strong> 10 yards of <strong>the</strong> goal. If a foul occurs with<strong>in</strong> 10 yards of <strong>the</strong>goal, <strong>the</strong> ball will be placed at a designated spot, 10 yards from goal. The ball must be stationary before tak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> kick. Opponentsmust be 5 yards from <strong>the</strong> ball. A goal cannot be scored directly from a Kick In. The ball must be touched by a teammate oroppos<strong>in</strong>g player. Opponents must be five yards from <strong>the</strong> ball. Five yards shall be given, <strong>the</strong> same as all free kick situations.If <strong>the</strong> ball is improperly kicked <strong>in</strong>to play, <strong>the</strong> restart shall be taken by a player of <strong>the</strong>oppos<strong>in</strong>g team.If <strong>the</strong> ball fails to enter <strong>the</strong> field of play, it shall be kicked aga<strong>in</strong>.Goal KickA Goal Kick is a method of restart<strong>in</strong>g play. Corner KickA Corner Kick is a method of restart<strong>in</strong>g play.o A goal may be scored directly from a Corner Kick, but only aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> oppos<strong>in</strong>g team.Opponents must be five yards from <strong>the</strong> ball A Corner Kick is awarded when;o The whole ball, hav<strong>in</strong>g last touched a defend<strong>in</strong>g player, passes over <strong>the</strong> out of boundsl<strong>in</strong>e <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> corner of <strong>the</strong> field.Forfeit Games must start with at least three players per team. Any team <strong>that</strong> cannot field three playerswith<strong>in</strong> 10 m<strong>in</strong>utes of <strong>the</strong> scheduled start time shall forfeit <strong>the</strong> game. Forfeit scores will be recorded as 3-0Individual <strong>Sports</strong>manshipAny player who is ejected (Red Card) or receives two Yellow Cards (= to Red Card), <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> same game,will not be eligible to participate <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir team’s next scheduled contest. It is required <strong>that</strong> <strong>the</strong>se<strong>in</strong>dividuals contact <strong>the</strong> <strong>i9</strong> <strong>Sports</strong> office to dist<strong>in</strong>guish, based upon <strong>the</strong> ejected player’s actions, whe<strong>the</strong>r ornot fur<strong>the</strong>r action may be taken. Individual po<strong>in</strong>ts for sportsmanship will be assessed as follows:Red Card = 2 Po<strong>in</strong>tsYellow Card = 1 Po<strong>in</strong>tAny participant earn<strong>in</strong>g two (2) po<strong>in</strong>ts <strong>in</strong> consecutive contests may face suspension <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir nextscheduled contest and/or placed on probation for <strong>the</strong> rema<strong>in</strong>der of <strong>the</strong> season.Any participant earn<strong>in</strong>g three (3) po<strong>in</strong>ts will be placed on probation for <strong>the</strong> rema<strong>in</strong>der of <strong>the</strong> season. Everysportsmanship po<strong>in</strong>t received by <strong>that</strong> player dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> probation period will be upgraded to <strong>the</strong> next po<strong>in</strong>tlevel. For example, if a player on probation should receive a conduct warn<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>that</strong> player must serve aone game suspension. Also, if a player who is on probation should receive an ejection, <strong>the</strong>y aresuspended at m<strong>in</strong>imum for <strong>the</strong> rest of <strong>the</strong> season and possibly <strong>in</strong>def<strong>in</strong>itely. Any participant earn<strong>in</strong>g four(4) po<strong>in</strong>ts will be suspended for <strong>the</strong> rema<strong>in</strong>der of <strong>that</strong> season and for <strong>the</strong> next season.MISCELLANEOUS REGULATIONS1.) When a game is be<strong>in</strong>g officiated by a referee, all calls are f<strong>in</strong>al. Offensive language and excessiveargu<strong>in</strong>g with <strong>the</strong> referees will result <strong>in</strong> ejection from <strong>the</strong> league or tournament.2.) Unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise notified, all pr<strong>in</strong>ted schedules are operative only through <strong>the</strong> first game for allseasons.3.) A player must leave <strong>the</strong> game when an abrasion has flow<strong>in</strong>g blood. Once <strong>the</strong> flow has stopped and<strong>the</strong>re is no chance of blood contact<strong>in</strong>g o<strong>the</strong>r players, <strong>the</strong> player with <strong>the</strong> abrasion may re-enter.4.) The correct <strong>in</strong>formation about <strong>the</strong> person’s height, weight, and skill level should be as accurate aspossible, any wrong <strong>in</strong>formation submitted to get ahead of <strong>the</strong> competition will be term<strong>in</strong>ated.5.)
