BC Transit Corporate Graphic StandardsMAY – 2009

Clear ZoneA clear, empty zone around the logo willensure visibility and optimal impact. Alwaysallow for a clear zone around the entirelogo between type, images and otherlogos. Where possible, allow extra space, outside the minimum clear zone, aroundthe logo. The only exception is when the logoappears along with the tagline.MINIMUM CLEAR ZONEMINIMUM CLEAR ZONEThe minimum clear space around the logo should be equal to theheight of the capital letters in the logo (shown as “x” in this illustration).=xIncorrect UsageFor visibility, impact and overall integrity,it is important to retain a consistent useof the logo. The logo should always beproduced from original artwork and mustnot be altered in any way.Being aware of the improper logo useillustrated here will help ensure theprotection of the integrity of the logo.If you require a larger image or adifferent file format, contact the BusinessDevelopment Department.Do not alter the logo by changing colours, removing or moving elements of the logoor by scaling the logo disproportionately.IncorrectBackgroundIt is important to have adequate contrastbetween the logo and the background foroptimal visibility. If a background colour isused that is too close to one of the logocolours, the integrity of the logo is lost. Here are examples of incorrect uses ofBC Transit’s logo on different backgrounds.
