All grease interceptors shall be the bacteria-driven type in order to minimize cleaningrequirements.2. Oil interceptorsa. Provide with cathodic protectionb. Provide with explosion pro<strong>of</strong> level switch with local light <strong>and</strong> audible alarm toindicate high oil level. The alarm shall also be wired back to the BACS.3. Trapsa. Factory P-traps shall not be installed on floor-mounted fixtures such as janitor’sclosets, or floor drains. These fixtures shall be installed with either a P-trap withcleanout plug or a running trap.b. Factory P-traps are acceptable at other locations.22 14 00 Facility Storm Drainage22 14 13 Storm Sewer Piping Systems1. Materialsa. For typical storm sewer systems <strong>of</strong> 3” diameter <strong>and</strong> above, install cast iron (no-hub orbell-<strong>and</strong>-spigot) pipes. Tie all joints above 4” diameter to avoid blown apart joints.b. For typical storm sewer systems below 3“ diameter, install copper (ASTM B88, TypeL) pipe.c. Install 1” fiberglass insulation, with all-service jacketing, on all:i. The initial interior section <strong>of</strong> piping from the ro<strong>of</strong> drain to the first horizontal run<strong>of</strong> storm piping.ii. All horizontal runs <strong>of</strong> storm piping.iii. All exposed sections <strong>of</strong> storm piping.iv. Sections <strong>of</strong> storm piping in noise-sensitive areas, if such routing cannot beavoided.2. Routingsa. Cleanouts shall be provided at the first bend below the ro<strong>of</strong>, at the base <strong>of</strong> all risers<strong>and</strong> at points where the system changes from horizontal to vertical or from vertical tohorizontal.22 14 23 Storm Drainage Piping Specialties1. Cleanouts shall be line-size for storm mains up to 4” diameter. For storm mains above 4”diameter, provide 4” clean-outs.38
