If the newly constructed ro<strong>of</strong> or existing insulation becomes wet due to rainstorms, faultywater cut<strong>of</strong>fs, or other reasons, the Contractor shall remove <strong>and</strong> dispose <strong>of</strong> all wet materials,dry the affected ro<strong>of</strong> area, <strong>and</strong> reconstruct the ro<strong>of</strong> in accordance with these specifications atno cost to the Owner.C. Coal tar base, oil base, or plastic ro<strong>of</strong> cements are not to be used in direct contact with steamor steam source.D. All bonding, splicing <strong>and</strong> sealing surfaces must be free <strong>of</strong> dirt, moisture <strong>and</strong> any othercontaminants.E. The ro<strong>of</strong> surface shall be free <strong>of</strong> ponded water, ice, snow, or algae prior to installing the newro<strong>of</strong> system.F. Do not apply ro<strong>of</strong>ing unless correct asphalt application temperatures can be maintained toobtain good embedment <strong>and</strong> adhesion. Follow manufacturer's <strong>and</strong> NRCA's guidelines forbitumen application temperatures. Maintain proper Equiviscous Temperature (EVT) at point<strong>of</strong> application.G. Ensure ro<strong>of</strong> deck is structurally sound to support construction traffic. Notify Owner orArchitect/Engineer immediately <strong>of</strong> any conditions that are not structurally sound.1.09 WARRANTYA. Provide warranty <strong>and</strong> guarantee under provisions <strong>of</strong> Section 01780.B. On new ro<strong>of</strong>ing systems provide to the Owner the membrane manufacturer's 20 year no-dollarlimit material <strong>and</strong> workmanship warranty the date <strong>of</strong> final acceptance by the Owner.Warranties shall cover, but not be limited to, the following:1. Deterioration <strong>of</strong> the ro<strong>of</strong>ing membrane or flashing system resulting from ordinarywear <strong>and</strong> tear by the elements.2. Workmanship on the part <strong>of</strong> the approved ro<strong>of</strong>ing contractor in the application <strong>of</strong> theHigh-Performance Ro<strong>of</strong>ing System.3. Splits or breaks in the High-Performance Membrane not caused by structuralmovement or failure or movement <strong>of</strong> any material underlying the ro<strong>of</strong>ing membraneor base flashing.4. Blisters, wrinkles, ridges, fishmouths or open laps in the High-PerformanceMembrane.5.
