The scratch directory is generally on the local file system. Adetailed description of how Job Control selects the scratch directory is given in Section 2.4 ofthe Job Control Guide.When the job is started, its input files are copied to the scratch directory. While the job runs,temporary job files are maintained in the scratch directory. During the run, the .log file is periodicallycopied back to the directory from which the job was started. When job monitoringfrom Maestro is in effect, structural monitoring files are also copied back periodically. Theseshow how the structure is changing during the job. You can specify the interval in seconds atwhich these files are copied back with the -INTERVAL option.
