The Sierra Madre and Verdugo earthquakeshave the potential to damage about 10 percent and 14 percent of the commercial andindustrial buildings, respectively, in the City. The distribution and severity of damageto the commercial structures in the City as a result of earthquakes on the Verdugo,Sierra Madre and Raymond faults is illustrated in Map 6.7. All three earthquakesshown on Map 6.7 are anticipated to cause damage in the commercial district of theCity, but an earthquake on the Verdugo fault would be the most severe, given the fault’slocation through the heart of Glendale.2006 PAGE 6 - 44
