“At Leeds CityCollege we work inpartnership withBritain’s biggest andmost successfulelectrical trainingorganisation JTL.”This year the electrical department has beenworking on developing a set of qualificationsthat enable students a progression routefrom foundation learning to level 3 andinto industry. The new qualifications offerprogression on both full and part timecourses which could enable our studentsfuture employment opportunities within theelectrical industry. Within the last coupleof years the electrical department hasbeen able to train students though our fulltime provision and progress them on to anapprenticeship programme with JTL studyingat Leeds City College.The tutors in both campuses are qualifiedand experienced tradespeople, withover one hundred years of experienceworking in industry. The skills of theteaching teams cover almost all fields ofelectrical installation and engineering, fromdesigning and implementing multi-millionpound commercial electrical installations,to designing and constructing complexelectronic and PLC based systems.On all electrical courses the tutors useindustrial experiences to develop the skillsthrough theory and practice.
