FUSED PLUGThis plug is a safety feature. It contains a safety device(fuse) that should not be removed. Discard product if theattachment plug is damaged. To reduce the risk of fire,electric shock and personal injury, DO NOT remove,replace, repair or tamper with the originally suppliedplug. If the <strong>Fan</strong> does not function properly, it may be dueto the safety device incorporated in this plug.If the fuse fails, it is generally due to a short circuit orcircuit overload. Replace the fuse as per the instructionsbelow. If the replacement fuse fails, immediatelyunplug the unit and contact our technical supportdepartment for assistance.Figure 3Fuse Replacement:1. To replace the fuse, first turn the unit it off and unplugit from the wall. Locate the door on top of the plug.Figure 3.2. Slide the door on top of the plug towards the blades.Figure 4.Figure 43. UNPACKINGAs you unpack the fan, save the carton and packingmaterials in case you want to move or ship the unit in thefuture. Carefully remove all items from the box.NOTE: It is best to have someone hold the box whileyou lift the fan and the protective packaging out of thecarton. Make sure all shipping materials are removedfrom fan before operating.HeightAdjustmentKnobBase TrimRingTelescopingPoleBASE ASSEMBLY1. Remove and height adjustment knob from telescopingpole by turning it counter clockwise. Also remove thecord clamp. Slide the base trim ring onto the pole.Reinstall the height adjustment knob and cord clamp.Figure 6.2. Remove the L-shaped screw from the telescopingpole by turning it counter clockwise. Figure 7.3. Insert the telescoping pole into the top of the base.Install the L-shaped screw into the threaded hole inthe bottom of the pole to secure the pole to the base.Figure 7.4. Tip the base back upright.5. ATTACHING ASSEMBLY TO POLE1. Press the clip buttons in completely while sliding thepole from the motor housing assembly into the innerpole until the clip buttons appear through the hole inthe inner pole. Figure 10.Clip ButtonFigure 108


GRILL ASSEMBLYNote: The trim ring may be attached to the front and reargrills for shipping purposes. If so, remove the trim ring byloosening the trim ring screw.1. Remove the four grill mounting screws from themotor housing. Figure 11.2. Make sure that the grill is positioned so that threeof the grill lines are completely between the toptabs. Then place the Back Grill against the MotorHousing, Figure 12., and line up the four tabs onthe back of the grill to the four screw holes on thefront of the motor.3. To attach the Back Grill to the Motor Housingpartially install the four grill mounting screws.Tighten all four screws. Figure 13.Note: One of the grill mounting screws will have a starwasher on it, for grounding purposes. The other 3 screwswill not have a washer.4. GRILL ASSEMBLY (CONT.)6. Remove the grill ring from the front grill by looseningthe screw holding it.7. Place the front grill against the back grill so that theHunter logo faces right side up and push together untilthe tabs on the grills hold them together. Figure 16.8. Expand the grill ring by loosening the screw thatsecures it. Figure 17.9. Slide the grill ring over both front and back grillsturning the ring so that the screw that secures it, ison the bottom. OPERATIONOff / Speed SelectionTo turn the fan on and off or to control the speed, turn thespeed knob on the top of the motor housing to the propersetting. Figure 20.HighMediumLowOffOscillationTo allow the fan to oscillate, push the knob beside the fanspeed control down. Pull up on the knob if oscillation isnot desired. MAINTENANCEThis fan is permanently lubricated and will not requireadditional lubrication (oil) for the life of the fan.This fan requires little maintenance and containsno user serviceable parts. DO NOT try to fixit yourself. Contact qualified service personnelif servicing is needed.Before cleaning, turn fan off and unplug from electricaloutlet. Wipe off excess dust with a lintfree cloth. To ensureadequate air circulation to the motor, keep vents locatedat the rear of the motor free from dust accumulation. Avacuum cleaner hose can be used to clean these vents.DO NOT immerse the fan in water or any other liquid.CLEANING THE GRILL AND BLADE:1. Turn the fan off and unplug from the electrical outlet.2. Disassemble the grills by loosening the screw holdingthe grill ring and remove it from the grills.3. Two tabs hold the front grill and back grill together.Pull the front grill from the back.4. The blade may be removed by loosening the screwholding it in place. Grills and blades may be cleanedwith mild soap and water only after they have beenremoved from the motor housing.5. Use a dry or slightly damp lint free cloth to cleanthe fan. Do not use a furniture polish or any othercleaners that leave any residue, as they will damagethe protective Dust Armor.33Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the remainingfan parts.33DO NOT allow water or any other liquid to get intothe motor housing or base.33Reassemble the fan after blades and grills havedried completely.3 3 DO NOT plug the fan into an electrical outlet until ithas been fully reassembled.12
