Nestling in the ‘V’ of the cylinders is the Roots-type twin vortex supercharger with its two intercoolers that help provideR models with such vital power even at low engine speeds. This sixth-generation forced induction unit is 20 percent morethermodynamically efficient than its predecessor. Its intercoolers feature their own water-cooling circuit that reducethe temperature of the pressurised air to optimise power and efficiency.5

SMOOTHINGOUT THE CURVESWhat is power without control? For the R range, Jaguar has developedindustry leading adaptive dynamic technologies to enable pin-sharphandling, optimised gear selection and a taut suspension able toadapt to a variety of road conditions. To manoeuvre at the speedsan R craves, the driver is constantly assisted by the expertise ofthe car itself. Jaguar’s revolutionary Adaptive Dynamics systemcontinuously calculates the appropriate suspension response 500times every second. Adjusting the dampers to keep the car as flatand stable as possible, it improves control and handling without anyloss of ride comfort. Jaguar’s Servotronic 2 steering system offersmore assistance at low speed for easy manoeuvring but less supportat higher speeds; increasing the level of performance feedback tothe driver. The Active Differential works together with the traction,ABS and Dynamic Stability Control to offer superior stability invarying driving conditions, sharpening the car’s agility through bends.

DESIGNEach R model has a unique exterior styling designedto improve aerodynamics and performance as well asreflect its sporting credentials. Signature design featuresinclude unique 20D alloy wheel designs and powerfulquad exhaust tailpipes. Restyled front air intakes anddistinctive twin bonnet louvres provide extra coolingfor the 5.0 V8 Supercharged engine.10

LUXURYR interiors are rich in craftsmanship, style and driver-focusedinnovation. XKR-SThe new XKR-S takes the Jaguar sports car experience to soaringnew heights. Powered by a unique version of Jaguar’s 5.0 LitreV8 Supercharged engine – calibrated to achieve 550PS andpeak torque of 680Nm – the most powerful production sportscar Jaguar has ever produced is capable of 0-100km/h in just4.4 seconds and a top speed of 300km/h. Bespoke changesto the Adaptive Dynamics together with a 10mm reductionin ride height and extensive revisions to the suspensioncomponents and geometry deliver pin-sharp handling,maximise grip and optimise control. The unique 20D Vulcanlightweight forged alloy wheels feature increased tyre widths,while the performance active exhaust gives XKR-S its owndistinctive sound signature.Dramatic, bold exterior styling changes have been designed toimprove aerodynamics, maintain stability and reduce lift at highspeeds.
