Ignitor Lighting• Do not lean over appliance while lighting.1. Turn ON LP gas cylinder.2. Open the Smoke Chamber door.3. Press and turn the control knob to HIGH.4. Turn ROTARY IGNITOR knob rapidly.5. Looking throughthe match light holes underneath the appliance, you should seethe flame height decrease when turning knob from HIGH toLOW. Always check flame prior to each use. If only low flameis seen refer to "Sudden drop or low flame" in theTroubleshooting Section.Turning Appliance Off• Turn control knob to OFF position. Turn LP cylinder off byturning hand-wheel clockwise to a full stop.Ignitor Check• Turn gas off at LP cylinder. Turn ignitor knob. "Click" shouldbe heard each time at electrode. See "Troubleshooting" if noclick or spark.Valve Check• Important: Make sure gas is off at LP cylinder beforechecking valve. Knob locks in OFF position. To check valve,first push in knob and release, knob should spring back. If knobdoes not spring back, replace valve assembly before using OillessFryer. Turn knob to HIGH position then turn back to OFFposition. Valve should turn smoothly.Hose Check• Before each use, check to see if hose is cut, worn or kinked.Replace damaged hose before using applaince. Use onlyvalve/hose/regulator specified by manufacturer.NormalHoseKinkedHoseGeneral Appliance Cleaning• Do not mistake brown or black accumulation of grease andsmoke for paint. Interiors are not painted at the factory (andshould never be painted). Apply a strong solution of detergentand water or use a grill cleaner with scrub brush on insides ofappliance lid and bottom. Rinse and allow to completely air dry.Do not apply a caustic grill/oven cleaner to paintedsurfaces.• Plastic parts: Wash with warm soapy water and wipe dry.Do not use citrisol, abrasive cleaners, degreasers or aconcentrated grill cleaner on plastic parts. Damage to andfailure of parts can result.• Painted surfaces: Wash with mild detergent or non-abrasivecleaner and warm soapy water. Wipe dry with a soft nonabrasivecloth.• Stainless steel surfaces: To maintain the high qualityappearance, wash with mild detergent and warm soapy waterand wipe dry with a soft cloth after each use. Baked-on greasedeposits may require the use of an abrasive plastic cleaningpad. Use only in direction of brushed finish to avoid damage.Do not use abrasive pad on areas with graphics.• Cooking surfaces: If a bristle brush is used to clean any ofthe grill cooking surfaces, ensure no loose bristles remain oncooking surfaces prior to grilling. It is not recommended toclean cooking surfaces while grill is hot.
