Elevation HoldoversExampleOnce the distance has been calculated using the EBR-2Breticle or a laser rangefinder, the EBR-2B can be used forrapid holdover correction for bullet drop of the cartridgebeing used. To get the most benefit out of the EBR-2Bequipped riflescope, Vortex Optics highly recommendsshooters learn their bullet drop numbers in MOAs ratherthan inches.Since the EBR-2B reticle is scaled in 1 MOA increments,it is an easy job to quickly select the correct dropreference line once the shooter knows the bullet drops inMOAs. If the shooter prefers to dial come ups for bulletdrop using the elevation knob, knowing bullet dropsin MOAs rather than inches will allow for much fasteradjustments as the MOAs can be quickly read on theelevation knob.17.5 MOA reticle holdover for 625 yard shot. Windage and Moving TargetsThe EBR-2B reticle is highly effective when used for windand moving target leads. Using the reticle for effectivewindage and moving target leads will require thoroughknowledge of your weapons system’s ballistic performanceunder varying conditions and experience in readingwind strengths and target speeds. As in bullet drops, it isimportant for the shooter to learn a particular weapon’swindage/moving target corrections in MOAs rather thaninches. Always hold the reticle into the wind.Example15 mph windFull value wind at 90 degreesBasic windage correction on center crosshairWhen dialing elevation come ups, the center horizontalcrosshair will be used for windage or moving leadcorrections. MOA marks on the horizontal crosshair aregraduated in 1 MOA increments.3 MOA reticle windage correction for 400 yard shot in 10 mph crosswindusing center crosshair.
