277. Plaintiff Hasanović was born in 1946, Municipality <strong>of</strong> Rogatica. In 1992 she fled withher husband, Huso (born in 1945) and children to Srebrenica, hoping there to be safe.Her son, Ramiz (born in 1967) was killed in the war in 1992. At the time <strong>of</strong> the fall <strong>of</strong>the Safe Area Dutchbat soldiers stated that the civilian population must flee to Potoćariand the men must go into the woods. Her two sons, Selman (born in 1969) and Sead(born in 1972), consequently fled into the woods. That was the last time that Hasanovićsaw her sons. Because her husband was sick and could not walk very well, he fled withHasanović, her mother and mother-in-law to the UN compound at Potoćari. Hasanovićwas separated from her husband on 13 July 1995 and taken away. Hasanović has neverseen her husband again. Her husband and son, Sead, have as yet not been identified. Herson, Selman, was identified in 2003. Hasanović presently receives a monthly benefitspayment <strong>of</strong> KM 161 (about EUR 80).Hotić278. Plaintiff Hotić was born in 1945, in the Municipality <strong>of</strong> Zvornik. Hotić lived inSrebrenica from the outbreak <strong>of</strong> the war, with her husband, Sead (born in 1939) and son,Samir (born in 1966). Her husband was a sociologist and worked as a civil servant.When Hotić heard from Dutchbat on 11 July 1995 that she had to go to Potoćari she fledthere together with her husband, her son, her two brothers and the wife <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> herbrothers with their two daughters. Shortly before they had reached the UN compoundDutchbat soldiers indicated by hand signals that the men must flee to the woods. Herbrother, Mustafa (born in 1953) and her son therefore fled into the woods and werenever seen again. Hotić continued on her way with the rest <strong>of</strong> the group. Her brother,Ekrem, was taken out <strong>of</strong> the mini Safe Area by Serbs for ‘questioning’ on 12 July 1995and never returned. Hotić was separated from her husband on 13 July 1995, and he wastaken away with a gun held to his neck. Hotić never saw him again. Her husband and herbrother, Ekrem, were later found in a mass grave. Her son, Samir, has still not beenfound.
