Session 3: <strong>ITCO</strong>: Industry Issues14:00 Break-out SessionsIn the afternoon, the <strong>Meeting</strong> will divide into a num<strong>be</strong>r of Break-out Sessions, covering a range oftopics relevant to the tank container industry. Delegates will choose the Break-out Group that theywish to attend (irrespective of the five <strong>ITCO</strong> divisions). The groups will <strong>be</strong> limited to about 12 to 15people, with registrations for each Group on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Each Group will <strong>be</strong>moderated by an <strong>ITCO</strong> Director. Groups will brainstorm a num<strong>be</strong>r of pre-determined issues andconclude with an action plan that will <strong>be</strong> presented to the plenary session.Group ADepots - what can owners (both operators and lessors) do to permit greater efficiency ofoperations?” (eg technology, standardisation, etc)Group B:Tank Container Inspection – a major cost to the industry. What can <strong>be</strong> done to <strong>be</strong> more efficient?Group C:Promoting the Tank Container industry: how can we improve the marketing to promote a moreefficient industry and encourage investment by making global fleet growth reports available ?Group D:Customer requirements for more efficiency: Tracking/tracing assets more efficiently – follow-up tomorning’s sessionGroup E:Regulation efficiency: Is the industry over-regulated? Is it time to consolidate industries qualityschemes into a regulatory requirement. Is there too much quality control?Group F:Competition from other modes eg drums, IBCs and flexitanks; How can the tank industry promoteits <strong>be</strong>nefits and capture greater growth?Group G:Vision for future 25 years: How will the tank industry change and how should we prepare?Group HRisk management – tank industry approach to managing by QA systems and incident reportingGroup JSOLAS container weight verification – issues resulting from the proposed requirement to certifymass on packing certificate by weighing each container15:30 Refreshment Break16:00 Plenary SessionEach Group will report back to a plenary session of the Conference. There will then <strong>be</strong> anopportunity for open discussion on the ideas that have <strong>be</strong>en covered.17:00 Close of Conference by the President
