<strong>SR8</strong>-Plus Operation <strong>Manual</strong>73-100-810-I8.11 BeltsThe <strong>SR8</strong>-Plus has 3 belts which should be checked every 6 months for proper adjustmentand excessive wear. An incorrectly adjusted belt can cause the system to vibrate. Excessivebelt wear can be caused by a faulty spindle or idler bearings.As a preventative measure, the belts should be changed at least every 6 months.To check the belts:1. <strong>Manual</strong>ly adjust the motor speed to 0.0RPM (stopped) and turn power off.2. Remove cover. (see Figure 8-3)3. Visually inspect each of the belts for wear. If any of the belts show signs of excessivewear, the belt should be replaced. Free movement of the spindles and idler pulleysshould be verified using the instructions in this section.4. <strong>Manual</strong>ly adjust the motor speed to 100RPM.5. Visually verify that each of the belts move smoothly and without vibration. If vibration isobserved, the belt should be adjusted or replaced to remove the vibration.6. Replace the cover.To remove drive head cover, see Figure 8-3.1. Verify that the drive head is at its highest position.2. Reach under the drive head and remove the 5 white caps. Locate and remove thescrews under these caps.3. Carefully lift the cover. Disconnect the cable routed to connector J1 of the displayboard. Remove the screw securing the system ground wires and remove wires.4. To replace the cover, follow the above instructions in reverse order.Section 8 Maintenance and Calibration – 58 –
