SR8-Plus Operation Manual73-100-810-I8.8 Bath Temperature CalibrationThis calibration procedure is generally not necessary unless components of the SR8-Plushave been replaced or the firmware has been upgraded. The only time this calibration isrequired is when the bath temperature operates more than 0.2°C from the set temperature. Itis important to evaluate this condition correctly before performing this calibration. The purpose of bath temperature calibration is to align the bath temperature to the actualtemperature using the T1 temperature probe as the reference temperature. This calibrationprocedure will ensure that when a temperature is requested (programmed), the bath will go tothat temperature. Again bath calibration should only be done if the bath set point and theactual bath temperature have a difference of more than 0.2°C.Before performing this calibration, perform the Temperature Probe Accuracy Check (seeSection 8.5). Next, evaluate the circulating water pump (see Section 8.3). Poor bathcirculation may cause the bath set temperature and actual temperature to be different; in thiscase, replacing the circulating water pump will often solve the problem—not calibrating thebath. The easiest way to determine if conditions are acceptable to implement bath calibration is toset a temperature (37°C) and then monitor the actual bath temperature. The requirement isthat the bath remains at a stable temperature +/- 0.1°C for one hour, regardless of what theactual temperature is.This procedure automatically calibrates the bath temperature at 32°C and 37°C. It requirestwo hours to complete bath temperature calibration.NOTE: SR8-Plus waterbath must be used for this calibration. Calibrated temperature probesmust be used for this calibration.8. Bath temperature must be ≤31°C.9. Display Main screen, press [PREFERENCES] to display System Optionsscreen.10. Press [4] to display the Calibration menu.11. Press [3] to select “Bath Temperature Calibration”.12. Read instructions on screen, press [SET TEMP] to start.13. When calibration is complete, calibration verification is printed.14. Press [ESC] to display Main screen.Section 8 Maintenance and Calibration – 56 –
