SR8-Plus Operation Manual73-100-810-I8.5 Temperature Check and CalibrationTemperature Probe Accuracy Check1. Place temperature probe T1 and T2 adjacent to a certified thermometer in a waterbathof stable temperature at or close to standard test temperature. The SR8-Plus waterbathcan, but does not need to be used.2. Read the temperature for probe T1 displayed on the Status screen. The probe numberis displayed on the upper right-hand side of the temperature. Press [1] or [2] to selectprobe T1 or T2.3. The temperature on the screen should be within ±0.1°C of the thermometer temperature. If the temperature is outside this range, adjust the temperature probe(s). (see Section8.6—Temperature Probe Offset Adjustment)8.6 Temperature Probe Offset AdjustmentIf the temperature probe(s) are not reading within ±0.1°C of the thermometer, the probereading may be adjusted. To adjust the temperature probe reading:1. Display Main screen, press [PREFERENCES] to display the System Optionsscreen.2. Press [4] to display the Calibration menu.3. Press [1] to select “Temperature Probe Offset Adjust.4. At the information screen Press [ENTER].5. Press [←] and [→] keys to select the probe T-1 or T-2. Press [↑] and [↓] keys toincrease or decrease the probe reading; adjust the reading to be the same as acalibrated thermometer. Press [CLR] to reset the displayed probe.8.7 Temperature Probe CalibrationThis calibration procedure is generally not necessary unless components of the SR8-Plushave been replaced or the firmware has been upgraded. The only time this calibration isrequired is when the temperature probe is not reading within 0.1°C of a certified thermometerat both 32°C and 37°C. It is important to evaluate this condition correctly before performingthis calibration. The purpose of temperature probe calibration is to change the readout of the T1 and T2probes to match a certified thermometer as closely as possible. If the temperature probe isnot reading within 0.1°C of a certified thermometer, perform the following steps using acalibrated thermometer that reads to 0.00°C (if possible). It is important that a stabletemperature is used at both the 32°C and 37°C calibration points. Remember to enter thevalue of the certified thermometer into the SR8-Plus program--not the temperature probevalue.Section 8 Maintenance and Calibration – 54 –
