<strong>SR8</strong>-Plus Operation <strong>Manual</strong>73-100-810-I4.11 Installation of Paddles and Baskets1. Verify that the drive head is at its highest position.3. If the spindles are turning, press [SET SPEED], highlight “0” or input “0”, and press[ENTER]. The spindles will stop turning.4. Reach under the drive head and loosen the chuck which secures the shaft of eachpaddle or basket. Insert each shaft through the chuck, so that it is protruding out the topof the drive head. (see Figure 4-15)Figure 4-15: Paddle/Basket Shaft Installation5. Verify that each of the vessels is empty.6. Verify that there are no spacers installed on the guide rods. (see Figure 4-14)7. Lower the drive head to its lowest position.NOTE: If a different operating position is desired, see 4.10 Setting Adjustable Stops.8. Push each shaft down until the paddle or basket touches the bottom of the vessel.Tighten the chuck to secure the shaft in place.9. Raise the drive head.10. Clip the height setting spacers above the stops on the guide rods. If using paddles, usethe spacer labeled “P”. If using baskets, use the spacer labeled “B”.
