Approved student-produced media on campus are the Festival Studios (multimedia year in review), Joker (pictorial directory), Numerique (studentphone directory), <strong>Southern</strong> Accent (student newspaper), <strong>Southern</strong> Memories (yearbook), and Campus Chatter (weekly announcements). <strong>Southern</strong><strong>Adventist</strong> <strong>University</strong> is the legal publisher of all of the approved student-produced media.<strong>University</strong> Health CenterThe <strong>University</strong> Health Center strives to provide high quality health care for the students of <strong>Southern</strong> <strong>Adventist</strong> <strong>University</strong>. Services are provided by amid-level practitioner under the supervision of a physician. The Health Center is open during regular university working hours. To maximize healthcare for all students it is the normal procedure for students to be seen at the Health Center. Registered nurses are on-call for urgent needs when theHealth Center is not open.The Health Center is available to all students and student dependents that are on school insurance.Visits for minor illnesses or injuries, wound care, blood pressure checks, and equipment loans are free. Visits requiring prescriptions or expandedmedical care, physicals, lab tests, immunizations, and medications or supplies will have a charge. The Health Center will bill the school insurance butthe students should plan to file their own private insurance. Charges from the Health Center may be placed on the student’s account. For further details,consult the Student Handbook.Writing CenterThe goal of the Writing Center is to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which <strong>Southern</strong> <strong>Adventist</strong> <strong>University</strong> students across the curriculumcan become more comfortable with the writing process. The Writing Center strives to cultivate the importance of the process of writing and to helpstudents become independent writers, capable of recognizing and utilizing their strengths while identifying and correcting their weaknesses.Writing Center tutors—students who have been trained to help with essay writing, research papers, documentation, résumés, and grammar—offer freewriting assistance to any student currently enrolled at <strong>Southern</strong>. <strong>Undergraduate</strong> students may sign up for one 30-minute, one-on-one session per day,while graduate students may need 60-minute sessions for longer assignments. All students are encouraged to call to make an appointment; however,walk-in sessions are welcome when space is available.Academic Enrichment ServicesE. A. Anderson Lecture SeriesThe E. A. Anderson Lecture Series is an annual feature of the business curriculum. The series is made possible by the generosity of E. A. Anderson ofAtlanta, Georgia, for the purpose of giving the student a broader understanding of the business world. The public is invited to attend the lectures free ofcharge; however, for a fee, continuing education credit is available. Lectures are presented at 8 p.m. on Monday evenings during the second semester, inthe E. A. Anderson Business Seminar Room, Brock Hall, Room 333.Eugene A. Anderson Organ Concert SeriesThe Eugene A. Anderson Organ Concert Series was initiated in 1986 to provide world-class organ concerts on the campus of <strong>Southern</strong> <strong>Adventist</strong><strong>University</strong>. The foremost organists from throughout the world present these concerts. Select performances are broadcast internationally on the AmericanPublic Radio Program, “Pipe Dreams.” The series is made possible through the generosity of Eugene A. Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia, for theeducation and enjoyment of the students and the general public.The Anton Heiller Memorial Organ, a 70-stop 108-rank tracker organ, was dedicated in the Collegedale Seventh-day <strong>Adventist</strong> Church in April, 1986,and is the largest of its kind in North America. A second instrument, a Renaissance mean-tone organ with two manuals and 13 stops, is housed in themusic building’s Ackerman Auditorium. Both were built by John Brombaugh and Associates of Eugene, Oregon.
