It also provides for use <strong>of</strong> hardy plant species that requireminimal maintenance while still providing the ornamental appearance to the park's formal garden bed areas.Recommendation1. This area isrelatively open and can accommodate low key ball games without significant impact on other park users.Cycle access is provided and allowed through the park to routes as designated in Council's bicycle plan,encouraging this as a local route for low speed use through the park to ensure the safety <strong>of</strong> other park users.Recommendation1. No additional action recommended.DSHADED.1 Provision <strong>of</strong> shade across the parkIssueOne comment was received in regards to provision <strong>of</strong> shade across the park.DiscussionA new shade structure is being provided to the new playground (currently under construction). The <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Management</strong> also recommends a Vegetation <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> be developed. This would include a programand approach to ongoing replacement and infill tree planting to maintain existing tree plantings within the parkensuring the character <strong>of</strong> the park is retained as well as shade provisionRecommendation1. Development <strong>of</strong> Vegetation <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> in accordance with <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Management</strong>.ETOILETSE.1 Provision <strong>of</strong> public toilet adjoining the playgroundIssueOne comment was received in regards to provision <strong>of</strong> public toilet facilities adjoining the playground.DiscussionA public toilet facility is to be provided within the upgrade <strong>of</strong> the Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre. This facilitywill be located near the new café area and available to all park users. It is intended that the toilet will be openduring café hours.Recommendation1.
