ENMORE PARK – PLAN OF MANAGEMENT2.1 How this plan <strong>of</strong> management satisfies the principles <strong>of</strong>Crown land management (s.11 <strong>of</strong> Crown <strong>Land</strong>s Act 1989)The Crown <strong>Land</strong>s Act 1989 defines management principles for Crown <strong>Land</strong>s. Thefollowing table summarises the key principles and identifies how the plan <strong>of</strong>management adheres to them.Principle <strong>of</strong> Crown land managementa. Environmental protection principlesbe observed in relation to themanagement and administration <strong>of</strong>Crown land.b. The natural resources <strong>of</strong> Crown land(including water, soil, flora, fauna andscenic quality) be conservedwherever possible.c. Public use and enjoyment <strong>of</strong>appropriate Crown land beencouraged.d. Where appropriate, multiple use <strong>of</strong>Crown land be encouraged.e. Where appropriate, Crown landshould be used and managed in sucha way that both the land and itsresources are sustained in perpetuity.f. Crown land be occupied, used, sold,leased, licensed or otherwise dealtwith in the best interests <strong>of</strong> the Stateconsistent with the above principles.How this plan <strong>of</strong> management isconsistent with the principlesa. The future DA process will enforceprinciples <strong>of</strong> sustainability andenvironmental protection measuressuch as erosion and sediment controlduring construction <strong>of</strong> any majorimprovement works (eg. poolrefurbishment)b. The plan identifies conservation <strong>of</strong> thepark as open space, along withimprovement and enhancement <strong>of</strong> itsinherent natural and cultural elements(tree planting, etc.)c. The plan will facilitate greater publicuse and enjoyment <strong>of</strong> the parkthrough enhanced quality <strong>of</strong> activefacilities and passive recreationspaces for general public use,improvements to landscape amenity,increased safety measures andenhancement <strong>of</strong> cultural landscapeinterpretationd. The plan formalises the existingcombination <strong>of</strong> a generally passive,non organised recreational use parkintegrating the public pool facility. Inaddition event use to enhancecommunity vibrancy and interaction isprovided for.e. The plan seeks to conserve andimprove the park for the enjoyment <strong>of</strong>current and future generationsf. This plan <strong>of</strong> management containsuse and leasing prescriptions thatwould ensure principal tenants act inthe best interest <strong>of</strong> the StateEnvironmental Partnership 16October 2012
