ENMORE PARK – PLAN OF MANAGEMENT1.5 Crown <strong>Land</strong> management requirements<strong>Enmore</strong> <strong>Park</strong> is Crown land reserved for public recreation in accordance with the Crown<strong>Land</strong>s Act 1989. This plan <strong>of</strong> management identifies how the park is to be managed inaccordance with its purpose public recreation and in accordance with the principles <strong>of</strong>Crown land management (refer section 2.2).The Catchments and <strong>Land</strong>s Division <strong>of</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Primary Industries, landmanagement philosophy is based on the principles <strong>of</strong> Crown land management as listedin Section 11 <strong>of</strong> the Crown lands Act 1989. These principles affect all aspects <strong>of</strong> landmanagement activities and underpin major elements <strong>of</strong> land assessment, reservation /dedication <strong>of</strong> land and preparing plans <strong>of</strong> management. The principles are outlined inPart C <strong>of</strong> the plan <strong>of</strong> management – <strong>Plan</strong>ning Context (section 8.3).Provision has been made for existing and new facilities to be leased and licensed tocommercial operators or special interest groups in accordance with the Crown <strong>Land</strong>sAct requirements as listed in Crown <strong>Land</strong>s Policy for Food and Beverage Outlets onCrown Reserves (refer section 3.2.7 Leases and Licenses). The draft plan <strong>of</strong>management observes appropriate reserve policy applicable to the site along withrelevant land management case law in respect <strong>of</strong> acceptable uses on public recreationreserves.The Minister administering the Crown <strong>Land</strong>s Act 1989 must always give consent beforea reserve can be leased or licensed (refer Section 102, Crown <strong>Land</strong>s Act 1989).However, a Trust Manager may grant a temporary license for prescribed purposes (referSection 108, Crown <strong>Land</strong>s Act 1989)Council notified the Catchments and <strong>Land</strong>s Division <strong>of</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Primary Industries<strong>of</strong> its intention to prepare a plan <strong>of</strong> management for the reserve in accordance withSection 112, Crown <strong>Land</strong>s Act 1989, and approval to do so was provided by theMinister. The draft plan has been prepared in consultation with the Catchments and<strong>Land</strong>s Division <strong>of</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Primary Industries and will be placed on publicexhibition for a minimum period <strong>of</strong> 28 days. Following the exhibition and consideration<strong>of</strong> public comments, it is proposed that Council may amend as necessary, and seekformal adoption <strong>of</strong> the plan by the Minister administering the Crown <strong>Land</strong>s Act 1989.Environmental Partnership 8October 2012
