Hylt<strong>on</strong> Senior High School isdelighted to welcome Mrs. Kristi Mangan.Mrs. Mangan is a <strong>new</strong> member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>language arts department. She moved toHylt<strong>on</strong> HS from Forest Park, where shetaught Language Arts for five years. Shehas taught English 9, 10, 11, and 12, as wellas Creative Writing. Kristi was born inDallas, Texas, but had <strong>the</strong> w<strong>on</strong>derful fortune<strong>of</strong> growing up overseas, living in Holland,L<strong>on</strong>d<strong>on</strong>, and Switzerland. She attendedNorthwestern University where she receivedher Bachelor’s degree in English Literatureand Master’s degree in Journalism. Kristi is<strong>the</strong> proud Mommy <strong>of</strong> Dennis (age 3) andJohn (age 1) and <strong>the</strong> wife <strong>of</strong> Dennis, whoworks with <strong>the</strong> PWC Police Department.When she’s not in school (grading papers orplanning), Kristi spends time with herfamily, and enjoys reading, writing, running,and traveling.1. Thornt<strong>on</strong> and Perreault(2002) described <strong>the</strong> alignment <strong>of</strong> datacollecti<strong>on</strong> and use with a cycle <strong>of</strong> schoolimprovement as follows:1. Develop a plan. What data will becollected? How will we improve <strong>the</strong> datasystem? What <strong>new</strong> instructi<strong>on</strong>al methods orprocedures will be developed? What is <strong>the</strong>current baseline <strong>on</strong> critical measures? What<strong>staff</strong> development is needed?2. Implement <strong>the</strong> plan. Are wesuccessfully implementing <strong>the</strong> plan? Howwell is <strong>the</strong> plan working? Are regularassessments c<strong>on</strong>ducted?
