<strong>TRUDY</strong> <strong>RAUTIO</strong>President and Chief Executive Officer<strong>Carlson</strong>Trudy Rautio is <strong>Carlson</strong>'s president and chiefexecutive officer.Rautio has been a senior executive with <strong>Carlson</strong>for 15 years and, for the past eight years, hasserved as executive vice president and chieffinancial and administrative officer of <strong>Carlson</strong>,where she has been responsible for directing allfinancial and information technology operations ofthe company.Rautio also served as president of <strong>Carlson</strong>Rezidor Hotel Group, Americas, with overallresponsibility for the operation and growth of thecompany's four hotel brands in North and South America: Radisson ® , Park Plaza ® , Park Inn by Radissonand Country Inns & Suites By <strong>Carlson</strong> SM . Rautio also oversaw support areas for the organization includingManagement Services, Sales, Marketing and Distribution, Human Resources, Public Relations,Technology, Finance, and Planning and Acquisitions.Previously, Trudy served a dual role as executive vice president and chief financial officer of <strong>Carlson</strong>Consumer Group, plus chief administrative officer of <strong>Carlson</strong> Hospitality Worldwide. In that role, she wasresponsible for developing and implementing financial strategies and policies for <strong>Carlson</strong> Consumer Group,which included all of <strong>Carlson</strong>'s operations and brands in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise ships andleisure travel agencies. She was also instrumental in leading the planning and implementation of severalkey initiatives, including a <strong>Carlson</strong> program called "greatwork," designed to increase the effectiveness andefficiencies of processes throughout the organization.In 2009, Trudy was honored with the chief financial officer of the year award for large, private companiesby the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, a Minnesota-based business publication. In addition, Trudyreceived an inaugural award as one of the “2009 Women of Distinction” from the Girl Scouts of Minnesotaand Wisconsin River Valleys. In 2007, Trudy was named an Outstanding Alumni of Bemidji StateUniversity. In 2005, she was recognized by the Minnesota-based business publication, The BusinessJournal, as a Woman Changemaker. Trudy also received the Corporate Woman of achievement award bythe National Association of Women Business Owners' (NAWBO) Minneapolis Chapter in 2004. TheNAWBO award recognizes women for their leadership, accomplishments and outstanding contributions totheir companies. In 2003, Trudy was honored with a <strong>Carlson</strong> Fellows award for special achievement. The<strong>Carlson</strong> Fellows award represents the company's highest career achievement honor and is presented toemployees who best exemplify the qualities of leadership, creativity and dedication and who areconsidered to be true builders of the company. Trudy has a well-earned reputation with peers and industryexperts and was named one of the top women in finance in 2001 by another Minnesota-based businesspublication, Finance and Commerce.Prior to joining <strong>Carlson</strong>, Trudy was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Jostens, Inc.,


headquartered in Minneapolis. She also served as vice president of Finance for Minneapolis-basedPillsbury Co.Trudy serves on the board of directors for Securian Holding Company, Imation, <strong>Carlson</strong> Wagonlit Travel(CWT) and the Rezidor Hotel Group. <strong>Carlson</strong> is the main shareholder of Rezidor, which is one of thefastest-growing hotel companies in the world. She is active in several finance-related organizationsincluding the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Management Accountants andFinancial Executives Institute.A graduate of Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn., Trudy holds a Master of Business Administrationdegree from the University of St. Thomas, Twin Cities. In addition, she is a Certified Public Accountant anda Certified Management Accountant.
