Thecenterpiece was a huge fair on board theUSS Intrepid in New York City—broadcast <strong>by</strong> theTODAY show and NBC News—attended <strong>by</strong>Dr. Jill Biden, Admiral and Mrs. Winnefeld, andMayor Michael Bloomberg. We also held largescaleevents in Chicago—the site of our very firsthiring fair—and in Fort Hood, Texas, with a hiringfair exclusively for military spouses. In additionto 4,500 military job seekers meeting with morethan 300 employers in those three cities, another15,000 connected with recruiters through a virtualonline hiring fair with our partner Military.comWhen we launched <strong>Hiring</strong> <strong>Our</strong> <strong>Heroes</strong>, our visionwas to create a movement across the country.With your help, these events served not only asan exclamation point for our first year but as astatement of intent for our second.
