Ethernet Services 3.13.6 Ethernet Services 3.1Information in mass storage, e.g. the hard disk in a PC, can be read directly from therobot. The robot control program can also be booted via Ethernet instead of usingdiskettes. This requires Ethernet hardware in the robot.Examples of applications:- All programs for the robot are stored in the PC. When a new part is to be produced,i.e. a new program is to be loaded, the program can be read directly fromthe hard disk of the PC. This is done by a manual command from the teach pendantor an instruction in the program. If the option RAP Communication orFactoryWare Interface is used, it can also be done by a command from the PC(without using the ramdisk as intermediate storage).- Several robots are connected to a PC via Ethernet. The control program and theuser programs for all the robots are stored on the PC.
