Axis 3Repairs4.2 Changing the gearboxAxis 3’s gearbox is of a conventional type, manufactured with a high degree of precision<strong>and</strong>, together with the gearbox for axes 1 <strong>and</strong> 2, forms a complete unit.The gearbox is not normally serviced are adjusted.Note:If the gearbox of any of the axes 1, 2 or 3 needs to be changed, the whole unit mustbe changed.See foldout 1 in the list of spare parts.To dismantle:See Chapter 2.1.4.3 Dismantling the parallel armSee foldout 1 (6 for IRB 1400H) in the list of spare parts.To dismantle:1. Loosen the upper bracket of the tie rod as in Chapter 4.4, Changing the tie rod.2. Unscrew screws which fix the parallel arm to gear 3.3. Remove the bearings from the parallel arm.To assemble:4. Fit the bearings on the parallel arm.5. Replace the parallel arm using screws <strong>and</strong> tighten to a torque of68 Nm ±10%.6. Attach the upper bracket of the tie rod as in Chapter 4.4, Changing the tie rod.7.
