General DescriptionRepairs12. The surfaces must be even <strong>and</strong> free from burr dust (caused by incorrect machining).If the flange surfaces are defective, they must not be used as they will causeleakage.13. The surfaces must be cleaned properly in the manner recommended by ABBROBOTICS.14. Distribute the sealing compound evenly over the surface, preferably using a brush.15. Tighten the screws evenly around the flange joint.16. Make sure that the joint is not subjected to loading until the sealing compound hasattained the hardness specified in the materials specification.O-rings17. Check the O-ring grooves. The grooves must be geometrically correct, withoutpores <strong>and</strong> free of dust <strong>and</strong> grime.18. Check the O-ring for surface defects <strong>and</strong> burrs, <strong>and</strong> check that it has the correctshape, etc.19. Make sure the correct O-ring size is used.20. Tighten the screws evenly.21. Defective O-rings <strong>and</strong> O-ring grooves must not be used.22. If any of the parts fitted are defective, they will cause leakage.Grease the O-ring with 3HAB 3537-1 before fitting it.8 Product Manual IRB 1400
