Maintenance2.7 Changing the battery for memory back-upType: Lithium Battery.The article number of the battery is 3HAB 2038-1The batteries (two) are located under the top cover to the right, at the top of the rearwall (see Figure 3)..Plan viewFront viewWarning:• Do not charge the batteries. An explosion couldresult or the cells could overheat.• Do not open, puncture, crush, or otherwise mutilatethe batteries. This could cause an explosionand/or expose toxic, corrosive, and inflammableliquids.• Do not incinerate the batteries or expose them tohigh temperatures. Do not attempt to solder batteries.An explosion could result.• Do not connect positive and negative terminals.Excessive heat could build up, causing severeburns.Warning:Do not incinerate or dispose of lithiumbatteries in general waste collection, asthere is a risk of explosion. Batteriesshould be collected for disposal in amanner that prevents short circuitting,compacting, or destruction of caseintegrity and the hermetic seal.Figure 3 The location of the batteries on the computer unit.• Note from the teach pendant which of the two batteries has expired and needs replacement.• Loosen the expired battery terminal from the backplane.• Remove the battery by loosening the clasps.• Insert the new battery and fasten the clasps.• Connect the battery terminal to the backplane.• If both batteries must be replaced, make sure that the power is on.
