OPTORANGEOPE 06.07 eOptical proximity switches for glass fiber wave guidesOPE Series• For all glass fiber wave guides ofSNT Sensortechnik AG(scanners and barriers)• Infrared light source• Detection of smallest objects• Low cost versions with potentiometersetting• Robust housing• Versions with 110/230VAC and relay outputdownload data sheet onyour smart phone witha QR-Code scanner app.PropertiesThe optical proximity switches for glass fiber wave guidestype OPE are the basic electronics for all fiber-optic cables ofthe types FOY (scanner) and FOI (barriers) of SNTSensortechnik AG. They can also be operated stand aloneas an optical proximity switch. Thanks to clocked infraredlight, they are non sensitive to ambient light. The electronicsis built in a robust housing. The OPE together with the SNTglass fiber wave guides are a robust detection device forsmallest parts under difficult conditions. The switchingdistance can be set by 1- or 10-turn potentiometers. Thevarious versions have different sensitivity, speed, outputsand housings (see table on page 2).FunctionOptical wave guide sensors are ideally suited when objectshave to be detected in confine conditions. The (bigger)sensor is separated from the small scanner head. Glass-fiberwave guides are more robust and have longer service lifecompared to plastic guides. The proximity switches type OPEare sensors which fit to the glass fiber wave guides of SNTSensortechnik AG. The guide is mounted with an appropriatenut on the thread of the sensor. The O-ring seal makes it afully tight connection (see drawing besides).Scanner:Together with an FOY glass fiber wave guide a reflectionscanner can be realized. When an object enters the invisiblelight beam within the pre selected distance, the sensorswitches.Barrier:The sensor works as light barrier together with an FOI glassfiber wave guide. When the invisible light beam is interruptedby an object, the sensor switches.Depending on the sensor version the output is either NO orNC. The output status is indicated by the red LED. The LEDis on when the output is active.MountingThe OPE sensors can be mounted with 2 M4 screws and amounting bracket (scope of delivery).www.sntag.chThis Information corresponds to the current state of knowledge. SNT reserves the right to make technical changes.
