Nlirand enjoying the eveningin the company of Mr. and Mrs. GeorgeSchlemmer.D’Youville <strong>College</strong> honored two localhealth care professionals at its annualAchievement in Health Care AwardsDinner on February 28, <strong>2013</strong> at Salvatore’sItalian Gardens in Depew, N.Y.Since the award’s inception eighteenyears ago, D’Youville <strong>College</strong> hascontinued to grow as a leading educatorin the health professions. The <strong>College</strong>’smission challenges students to contributeto the world community by leadingcompassionate, productive and responsiblelives. Each year we look to our honorees asexamples of the personal and professionalheights our students may attain as theyprepare for service to others in their chosencareers.This year’s honorees were Dr. LawrenceBone, professor and chair of theDepartment of Orthopaedic Surgery at theUniversity at Buffalo School of Medicineand Biomedical Science, and Dr. EladLevy, director of the Endovascular StrokeService for the Gates Vascular Institute andprofessor of neurosurgery and radiology atthe University at BuffaloDr. Bone, an orthopaedic surgeon, is oneof the oldest members of the local 865thCombat Support Hospital at Niagara FallsAir Reserve Station. He serves as chiefof orthopaedics for the hospital and looksforward to returning to Afghanistan to helpsave the lives of American soldiers woundedin combat. Dr. Bone was accepted into theDr. Lawrence B. Bone addressing the guestsafter being honored at the Health AwardDinner for his work as chair of orthopaedicsurgery at the Universityr at Buffalo School ofMedicine and Biomedical Sciences.2
