Scope of coverage Material and workmanship; Koppers agrees to provide roofingrepairs to correct all roof water leaks that may occur fromordinary wear and tear of the elements, defects in built-uproofing, flashing, or insulation supplied by Koppers, andworkmanship of the original roofing contractor in installingKoppers built-up roofing, flashing, and insulation. A roof waterleak is defined as water passing through the roofing or flashingmembrane and into the interior of the building. Warranty doesnot cover correction of any condition other than roof waterleaks, including blisters, clogged drains, ridging, bitumendrippage, or migration.5. Length of coverage 5 or 10 years for BUR specifications Series 200, 400, and 500;15 or 20 years for BUR Specification Series 200, 400, and 5006. Nature of remedyKoppers will undertake repairs so long as the repair is consideredΑprudent≅ (i.e., Koppers considers that the cost of the repair is lessthan the Αremaining value≅ of the roof on the date the repair isrequired. ΑRemaining value" is the total cost of roof installation,reduced by 5 percent for each year or part of a year after theeffective date, with no deduction for the cost of any previouswarranty repair). If Koppers believes repair is not prudent, paymentof remaining value will be owner's sole and exclusive remedy andshall relieve Koppers of all further liability under this warranty.7. Monetary limitations Koppers is not liable to pay for a repair that Koppers believeswill cost more than the total cost of the roof installation (BURmembrane, flashing, and insulation) reduced by 5 percent foreach year or part thereof.Material and workmanship; Koppers agrees to provide roofingrepairs to correct all roof water leaks that may occur fromordinary wear and tear of the elements, defects in built-uproofing or flashing materials supplied by Koppers, andworkmanship of the original roofing contractor in installingKoppers built-up roofing and flashing materials. Warranty does not cover correction ofany condition other than roof water leaks, including ridging orslippage.5, 10, or 12 years. The only warranty available for a new roofover an existing roof is Koppers 5-year warranty; this requiresprior inspection/approval and at least one layer of Koppersapprovedinsulation over the existing roof.Koppers will schedule a roof inspection and arrange for any repairsthat are covered by warranty.Koppers' liability is a minimum of $1,000 and is limited basedupon the length of the warranty, as follows:Length of Warranty Liability Limit5 years $100/square10 years $50/square12 years $100/square8.
