Subba Rao, National Vice President and Sri Kasi V. Rao ZoneXV Secretary acted as convenor for the Reception Committee exclusivelydesigned for this Programme. Sri B. Ch. Subba Rao and Sri Ch.Hanumanth Rao read out Welcome Address on 14 th in the inauguralsession and Sri Kasi V. Rao introduced all the dignataries.Justice M. Rama Jois was present as Chief Guest and all delegatesenjoyed his guidance on both the days. Sri R.P. Sharma NationalPresident, Sri I.D. Ojha National Working President, Sri Varinder SabharwalNational Secretary General, Sri Harish Jindal National Finance Secretary,Sri S.K. Wadhwa National Organizing Secretary also graced the occasionby their august presence and enlightened the members on various issueson these two days.All the 148 participants enjoyed the hospitality, participated in allthe proceedings of all the sessions and enjoyed the stay for both thedays. All participants offered standing ovation to the ReceptionCommittee and appreciated the kit provided to them and its material andall facilities under one roof in well furnished and comfortable residentialaccommodation and decent Meeting Hall in good ambience.A.P. REPORT OF NATIONAL PARIVAR SANSKAR SHIVIRHELD AT VIVEKANANDPURAM ,KANYAKUMARI ON THE24TH, 25TH & 26TH JANUARY, 2009.Vivekanandpuram, the HQS of spirituality oriented ServiceMission, Vivekananda Kendra, at Kanyakumari, the southern most tipof <strong>Bharat</strong>, the natural spiritual retreat, is a 100 acre Campus owned andmaintained by Vivekananda Rock Memorial Committee built by theherculian efforts of Manyavar Shri Eknath Ranade during 1960/1970swith a great mission of man making and nation building.On the campus you come across with lot of natural vegetation,Ganesh Mandir, Training Centre for the young aspirants of yoga, socialservice, pictorial exhibition on Swamy Vivekananda and Shri EknathRanade, <strong>Bharat</strong> Gramodaya Darshan Park, Library and Reading room,beautiful beach garden and sun rise point with rooms, dormitories,vegetarian Canteen and Open Air Auditoriums and other facilities suchas frequent bus service to and from Kanyakumari township.BVP Tamilnadu & Pondicherry availed of all the facilities atVivekanandpuram, for hosting this Shivir.THIS SHIVIR WAS DEDICATED TO THE LOFTY AND HOLYIDEALS OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA WHO GOT THE VISION FOR HISLIFE MISSION AT KANYAKUMARI WITH THE BENIGN BLESSINGSOF DEVI KANYAKUMARI AND MOTHER BHARAT.THE THEME OF THIS SHIVIR WAS 'UNNAT PARIVAR UTKRISHTBHARAT'.This is the 6th shivir of the <strong>Parishad</strong> in which a total of 458delegates from various States participated. The State of Jammu &Kashmir registered the maximum number of 69 delegatesThe delegates and guests were offered a traditional welcome tothe AC Auditorium EKNATH where all the proceedings were conducted. The inauguration ceremony started at 10.31 A.M. when ShriN.B.Subramaniam, Prantiya General Secretary, wished Suprabhathamand welcomed the delegates for the shivirThe Master of ceremonies was Prof.P.M.Gopalakrishna, Zone XVIISanskar Pramukh who invited Shri Balakrishnaji, Sukumari Niveditaji,Vice Presidents of Vivekananda Kendra,. All thefamilies must make it a point to dedicate one child from each parivar forthe society. <strong>Vikas</strong> of the nation starts right from the individual, then thefamily, the society and then only the nation can be made great and selfsufficient.Sukumari Niveditaji dwelt at length on the upkeep of children offamilies of our present times. She said, prime duty of the mothers is toinculcate in their children the right kind of vision regarding discipline,ways of life from the very early stage of toddling. Mother should nevershow sympathy on matters of fundamental qualities, such as getting upearly in the morning, doing chores on their own, chanting God’s name,so that the child catches and tones up for later life with self disciplineand sanskars.Souvenir 2009 was released by Shri Sabharwalji. The session was chaired by Smt.MangalaMadhav Savadikar, Zonal Organising Secretary, Zone XIV. This wasfollowed by <strong>Bharat</strong> Gyan Multi-media presentation by Shri D.K.Harimember, Host Pranth on ‘Historical Rama’ giving scientific evidenceson Calendars, Time and quotes from leading Historians.The delegates went for seeing sun set and had darshan ofKanyakumari Bhagavathi Devi on the sea shore, the temple being builtas per Agama Shashtras.On Sunday the 25th morning the delegates saw sun rise at 6.20A.M. There was a yoga session for delegates by Yogacharya Deepak inthe Training Hall.At 8 A.M. the delegates left for the Vivekananda Rockabout a km inside sea and enjoyed being in the spiritual presence of theMaster Swamy Vivekananda, who swam across the waters of the oceanon the 24th December, 1892 and meditated for 3 full days and got theblessings of Devi Kanyakumari for fulfilling his mission in life.The next programme at 2 P.M. was a lecture on ‘HOW NOT TOSEE A DOCTOR’ by Dr.G.S.Kailash, Medical Practitioner in Chennai.He gave lots of tips on how to live a life without disease with classicexamples of his own experiences of more than 3 decades in the field.This session was chaired by Shri V.Hariharan, Zone XVII Chairman.The next session at 3.30 P.M.was chaired by Smt.Savitri Varshney,Zonal Chairman, Zone V. Shri Varinder Sabharwalji spoke on the activeparticipation of women members in BVP Projects, Smt.Avinash SharmaNational Convener, Parivar Sanskar, spoke on WOMEN IN PRESENTSOCIETY and Shri S.S.Asthana, National Additional Secretary Generalon PROBLEM OF WOMEN AND LAW.THEIR SOLUTIONS.There was a Cultural programme – <strong>Bharat</strong>hanatyam Danceperformance by Shri Sanjay (TV fame) and his family and group arrangedby Kalavardhini of Shri Alathur Vijayakumar, Chennai from 7 P.M. to8.30 P.M. in the KALIDAS OPEN AIR AUDITORIUM. The wholeprogramme was spiritually elevating and relaxing and was attended byall the delegates with rapt attention.26th – the delegates attended the Republic day flag hoistingceremony at the Kendra School ar 8.30 A.M.The Samapan function started at 9 A.M. with reports by Groupleaders on the four topics discussed on the previous day followed byMukt Chinthan, questions from delegates regarding day to day workingof BVP were read and answers were given by Shri Sabharwalji andDr.Prakashwatiji. There was a separate session for giving suggestionson the Parivar Sanskar shivir to be held in future. Smt.Usha Asthanaspoke and Shri N.B.Subramaniam of Host Pranth gave his views andsuggestions and delegates expressed their views of the present Shivirheld at Kanyakumari.The Valedictory function was the most memorable programme ofthe shivir with the address by Shri P.Parameswaranji, the President ofthe Vivekanada Kendra. He brought to light the fall of Communism inSoviet Russia, Capitalism in United States of America, the presenteconomic plight of America, the contradictions in the Western Nationsand <strong>Bharat</strong>. The solution for these problems is observance of Dharma,Artha, Kama and Moksha given to us as a great Treasure by our ancientphilosophers, rishis and munis. We in <strong>Bharat</strong> must lead our lives accordingto the principles laid down so clearly by our Acharyas. Every one isentitled to comforts in life, but materialism is not the end by itself, wemust look inward, attain spiritual wealth along with material wealth andthen only we can try and achieve our ultimate goal in life of gettingMoksha. Women in our families have the sole responsibility of bringingup the family as per our ancient philosophy and traditions. He furthersaid that hard work with selfless spirit will get the blessings of divinityand the mission becomes a success.
