OTHER DETAILS FOR REPUBLIC DAY PARADE TABLEAUX 20091. The presentation of the ‘Theme’ should be aesthetically developed so asto generate interest among general viewers.2. The job for the Tableaux will be on turn-key basis and it will involvebroadly – concept development, small and large size colour sketches, 3-D models, presentation before Experts’ Committee, re-designing as persuggestions of the Experts’ Committee, fabrication, background music,still and video photography, final presentation, dismantling of float andany other work related with proper presentation.3. Please enclose a brief on the work/job done on Tableaux for any otherMinistry/Deptt./Office/State Govt. in the past. The brief may please besupplemented by photographs, media report(s) innewspaper(s)/magazines etc. Special achievement(s) if any please behighlighted with supporting documents(s).4. DGOF & Chairman/OFB reserves the right to reject any ‘Theme’ and orpresentation (on creative aspect) without citing any reason.5. Please note that this is issued without any commitment at this stage.Terms & Conditions:01. The office holds all the right to short list the firm on basis of technicalbid.02. Short list of Firm does not assure any kind of part payment till the finalapproval is obtained from MOD.03. Work order for the same will be issued only after the confirmation ofparticipation.04. GUIDE LINE ISSUED BY M O D FOR TABLEAUX1. The sketch should be simple, easy to comprehend and should avoid statistical dataand unnecessary details. It should be able to convey, whatever it presents, by itselfand should not require any explanation, writing or elaboration. Writing or use oflogos on tableaux is not allowed except the name of State/UTs presenting whichis allowed in Hindi in the front, in English on the back and in Regional languageon the sides of the tableaux. In case of Ministries/Deptts and other organizationsname in Hindi and English in front and in the back is to be written.2. As far as possible, there should be some movement, sound animation on thetableaux.3. Generally, the tableaux are mounted on the tractor/trailers provided by theMinistry of Defence. However, there is no objection to the use of vehicles otherthan tractor and trailers for fabrication of tableaux to give them a different look.But these vehicle will have to be arranged by the sponsoring authoritiesthemselves.4. A normal tableaux is made on a tractor and trailer provided by the Ministry ofDefence free of charge. However, in exceptional cases where in the opinion ofthe Expert Committee the design so warrants, additional trailer or tractor or othertype of vehicles will be allowed. In such an event the tableaux may not be able toparticipate in the parade beyond India Gate. Again the provision of additionaltrailer or tractor by Ministry of Defence free of charge will depend on availability.No other type of vehicle will be provided by MOD. If essential and trailer at theirown cost. Normally these vehicles will be required for two months.5. The number of performers on the float should be kept to the minimum. Normally,on one trailer not more than 10 persons should be performing. No performer isgenerally permitted to be on the tractor component of the tableaux. Attractiveground element however can be considered on a limited number of tableaux onlyif it goes with the theme. These conditions are subject to modifications by MODdepending on the requirement of the tableaux.6. In case of tableaux on cultural, historical/ traditional themes, the colours, designs,costumes, materials etc. used should be authentic.7. The sketch should be clearly depict as to how the tractor pulling the tableaux willbe used as a part if the theme. Camouflaging the tractor should be in harmonywith the main theme of the tableaux. There should be a gap of about 6-7 feetbetween the tractor and the trailer and/ or between two trailer for turning ofmaneuvering. This should be taken into account while designing the tableaux.

8. In case, the tableaux are proposed to be integrated with a folk dance, it should beensured that the selected dance is a genuine folk dance and the costumes andmusical instruments are traditional and authentic. The tableaux and the danceshould also have thematic unity. The strength of the dance party, excluding thosewho are to perform on the tableaux, should not exceed 25 persons (45 persons inthe case of two trailers). The videocassettes of dance may also be sent along withthe proposals.9. While preparing the sketches and subsequently, three dimensional models, theState Governments etc. may take into account the following approximatedimensions of the trailers and tractors, which will be supplied to them for thefabrication o the tableaux:TrailerLength : 24’8”Width : 8’Height : 4’2”Load carryingCapacity : 10 tons10. The length, breadth and height of the single tableaux should not exceed 45’, 14’, and16’ (from the ground level) respectively. In case of two trailers length, breadth andheight of the tableaux should not exceed 75’, 14’ and 16’ (from the ground level)respectively. If it is proposed to use any other vehicles under own arrangements,particulars thereof should be indicated in the proposal.
