Art in Public Places<br />
Each month the James A. Rutherford Community Center showcases local<br />
artists and their artwork. <strong>The</strong>se exhibitions are free to the public and<br />
open during regular community center hours.<br />
January-Rimma Barenboim<br />
Rimma is a self-taught artist & jeweler, also working in stained glass.<br />
She sews, knits and her “crouched rope” bead creations are all hand crocheted.<br />
Creating one-<strong>of</strong>-a-kind pieces is a fun and exhilarating journey.<br />

January-Joni Sack<br />
Joni is an award winning self taught artist. She is a member <strong>of</strong> the Artist’s<br />
Guild <strong>of</strong> <strong>Boca</strong> <strong>Raton</strong> and exhibits widely throughout South Florida.<br />
She has a natural eye for color and composition which is demonstrated<br />

February-Les Petite Collecteurs<br />
A non-pr<strong>of</strong>it organization whose purpose is to create and stimulate interest<br />
in dollhouse miniatures. <strong>The</strong>y meet monthly at the <strong>Boca</strong> <strong>Raton</strong><br />
Community Center and each year they conduct a show and sale to generate<br />
money for abused children. Anyone interested in learning more<br />

February-Mimi Franklin<br />
Mimi is from Highland Beach. Her pen and ink pieces reflect her whimsical<br />
view <strong>of</strong> life. She has exhibited in Georgia, Virginia, New Jersey, and<br />

March-Student Art Shows<br />
This display consists <strong>of</strong> artwork created by students in grades six<br />
through twelve. To provide recognition, certificates and ribbons are<br />
presented to each student.<br />
April-Alexa Metichecchi<br />
From Bogota, Colombia, a design school graduate, Alexandra’s figure<br />
and portrait paintings are an explosion <strong>of</strong> expression and movement.<br />
She evokes happy memories, vibrant color and texture. Her works can<br />

April-Marilyn B. Hark<br />
A former gallery & frame shop owner in Miami, a self-described eclectic<br />
painter. Marilyn devotes her time to creating artwork exploring a new<br />
interest in ceramics. She has exhibited in local galleries & had several<br />
