1.13 Urea Nitrate <strong>Explosive</strong><br />

Urea nitrate can be used as an explosive munition. It is easy to prepare from nitric acid and urine. It can<br />

be detonated with a blasting cap.<br />

Materials Required Source<br />

Field grade (section 1.4) <strong>or</strong> industrial metal<br />

Nitric acid, 90% concentration (1.48 specific gravity)<br />

process<strong>or</strong>s<br />

Urine Animals (including humans)<br />

2 one gallon heat and acid-resistant containers (glass,<br />

clay, etc.)<br />

Paper towel <strong>or</strong> finely textured cotton cloth<br />

Filtering material<br />

(shirt, sheet, etc.)<br />

Aluminum powder (optional <strong>or</strong> if available) Paint st<strong>or</strong>es<br />

Heat source<br />

Measuring containers (cup and spoon)
