The current Constitution should be changed into a permanent multi-party Constitution with the following provision:• Funding <strong>of</strong> political parties by the government.• Barring elected leaders who defect in the middle <strong>of</strong> their term running for parliamentary or civic seats for the rest <strong>of</strong> theterm.On the rights <strong>of</strong> persons: the right <strong>of</strong> persons in lawful detention, prisons, remand or otherwise in State custody, may be lawfullyrestricted but to ensure that there is humane and dignified treatment <strong>of</strong> prisoners. The new Constitution should guaranteecitizens the right to information by provision <strong>of</strong> freedom <strong>of</strong> information Act and removing restrictions on freedom <strong>of</strong> expressionand independence <strong>of</strong> mass media. We don’t want KBC for “Kanu Broadcasting Corporation” but Kenya BroadcastingCorporation. The new Constitution should make provision for enactment <strong>of</strong> legislation to protect workers’ rights and to punisheconomic explointation <strong>of</strong> part-time and casual workers. The new Constitution should create mechanism to ensure thatleadership at all level is encoded in patriotism, meritocracy and moral uprightness. People say we don’t want dictatorship.When it come to agriculture, the new Constitution should recognize the centrality and locality <strong>of</strong> agricultural sector in Kenya’seconomy and make provision for preferential taxation, inputs, effective marketing, democratic governance and incomeguarantee in order to enhance sustainable economic grow. The new Constitution should make provision for establishment <strong>of</strong> taxand policy mechanism to accord preferential treatment to such area <strong>of</strong> agricural centred economy <strong>of</strong> Western province. Thenew Constitution should also make provision for enactment <strong>of</strong> public code <strong>of</strong> conduct to ensure that leaders account for theirwealth. Inculcate (inaudible) in public administration and penalize leaders found guilty <strong>of</strong> betraying public trust.To enhance the peoples’ rights to understant their rights and obligations under the Constitution and the corresponding duties <strong>of</strong>state, the Constitution be translated into local languages and be provided free <strong>of</strong> charge to every citizen.
